I found Gategaa on the list of hotels in Chiang Mai several times when I was trying to book a place to stay but never got a chance. Now I did. Gategaa was really a mind-blowing nature-oriented 3-star hotel located in an alley which connects both the Old City and Central Festival. Having said that, it’s really convenient. Just a walking distance from the Ping River. The interior design was calm but vibrant at the same time. Breakfast was great. Less variety but I’m sure you would not keep yourself starving after leaving the restaurant. Swimming pool at the roof top was my favorite. Warm water and nice night view! I’ll be back in the future!

The room has everything you need for your staying in central Chiang mai; from fresh bed sheets, clean towels, small balcony, small but useful kitchen area, decent bathroom and great breakfast with a choice of Thai food to offer!

Room was clean, large, with lots of light. The bed was extremely comfortable, sleep like a rock. The room has a celing fan which is a nice way to keep cool if decide to turn off A/C. The staff were kind and helpful. We didn't use the pool but looked ok. Overall very good value and location is good.

Room tip: We did the studio deluxe. It was the only room we saw, it was on second floor

This hotel is tucked away and surrounded by trees and greenery. So peaceful. Over the other side of the Ping River from the old city. But still only a short walking distance from the Nawarat bridge. The hotel is clean and staff friendly. The breakfast is good with choice of western and Thai breakfast and in addition a small buffet with salads, breads and pancakes and cereals.

There is a rooftop swimming pool with fantastic view of the sunset. Also a small gymn. We had a luxury studio. Very well appointed with kitchenette. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Room tip: Choose a higher floor

Everything was excellent, especially the receptionists were really helpful. The atmosphere with all the green is charming and quiet. Only room service could be improved. Rooms are modern and nice, we had a good stay. Location also great near night bazaar and warorot market
