“Nicey but pricey”
Reviewed 21 January 2012

Booked to stay in a superior room but was upgraded to an executive suite on the 23rd floor because all the superior rooms were already taken. The room was BIG with two double beds, a sofa, easy chair, writing desk, wide screen TV and a large bathroom with a tub and a separate walk in shower. The hotel was nicely furnished, staff were faultless, fantastic breakfast, but, the price of the internet was ridiculous ( 50 baht for 30 minutes ). The cost of a small beer in the lobby bar was five times what you would pay in a supermarket. The WiFi was free in the lobby bar and there is a convenience store with an ATM machine nearby (walk through the car park and its on the right) The location is a bit out of town but there is ample local transport available in the form of Tuk tuk's . Basically it is a very good hotel and I would have no hesitation in staying there again if they used a bit of common sense over their pricing policy

Room Tip: If you get a room on the higher floor you sometimes have to wait a while for a lift in busy times

I arrived here via a connecting flight from Bangkok straight from the UK. It was a good place to recover from jetlag. The room I had was huge and very comfortable, though no breakfast was included. I had booked through expedia but I still found it good value at approx £30 a night. It is true that it is a bit out of the centre, but I still walked from here, though I would not have wanted to stay longer than the three nights I had booked. I would not rave about the service but it was okay though a bit impersonal

I had stayed in Holiday Inn, Chiangmai during December 2011 and also during December last year as well. I stayed in the deluxe connecting room on the 24th floor which gave us a breath taking view of the city of Chiangmai, especially in the early morning. I appreciated the welcome drinks and the free wifi service which was reasonably fast. But the best thing in the hotel wouldn't escape the wide varieties of breakfast, which were of high quality ranging from pastries to Thai style fried noodles. Another thing that was special was the different types of pillows that we can choose from, they were labeled soft and firm, I was quite surprised for their care in these details. The only thing I didn't quite like about the hotel is it's location which was a bit far from the center shopping zone of Chiangmai, but we have hired a van so that is not a problem. Overall it was fantastic and I will surely stay again if I come to Chiangmai.

Room Tip: The deluxe room was fab!

We stayed here for 5 nights in a King Suite with river view and the room was fantastic and great for the kids with a roll away bed.

The food in room and restaurant was excellent and breakfast was good.

The pool is not a high quality pool but you go here for the other things to do in the area.

I stayed in this property several times in the last 12 months. It used to be very efficient and enchanting in terms of services. During my last stay in the month of Dec 2011, I found the hotel is flooded with european holidayers, some local guests. I could see the service deficiency clearly and I had to wait for many things to happen. So, best advice is not to go here during peak periods.

Room Tip: Select City View Room in a High Floor! You'll love it to see grand view of the City and its env...
