We stayed for 3 nights here at the end of June 2017. Overall it was a wonderful place to stay. Its location next to the river ping provided a very nice and tranquil spot in the morning and afternoons after exploring the city. We also ate at the restaurant, which is housed in the old British consulate building. Very nice and the food was very well priced. The staff was also very helpful, they were able to point out the best times to visit certain markets, helped us with pricing for taxi rides, and sought every want and need. They also left us a very nice wooden bookmark as a thank you gift. Would recommend!

Room Tip: All rooms face the courtyard and river, so all were excellent to stay in.

My husband and I travelled to Chaing Mai on our multicity Honeymoon trip. This resort was absolutely stunning and so memorable. Each and every employee so kind and helpful. The grounds are kept so well and clean. Check was great we were served a butterfly pea drink that was delicious. The rooms were a perfect size, very clean and comfortable we loved the setup. We enjoyed breakfast outside and their different restaurants. The food was excellent some of the best we had eaten in all of Thailand.

The resort is located right by the evening market which has lots of local street vendors. Lots to do and see in Chiang Mai. We will absolutely return one day and stay in Anantara again.

We enjoyed 4 nights at the Anantara and were sad to leave! The place is a gorgeous oasis of calm. The pools, the indoor-outdoor spaces, the architecture...all give one a sense of ease and "ahhhhh...."

From the welcome drink and snack to the extensive breakfast spreads each morning to complimentary classes on massage, we felt like we got our money's worth. Very nice gym, too! I had the whole place to myself 3 out of the 4 times I went.

The location is convenient for exploring town, but it feels nicely removed from some of the rag-tag feel on the street.

The only stumbling block for us was a bit of a language barrier. I had expected that all the staff would speak conversational English, but there were 5-6 interactions that resulted in an employee having to go find someone else to come talk to us to discover what we were asking for (ketchup in the restaurant, for example, or sugar with coffee). We had dinner at 1921 one night, and we were escorted into the secret dining room that was set for a corporate event, and only after our looking confused for a while did it become clear that they had us mixed up with another reservation.
There was also a bit of scrambling at the front desk whenever I would ask them for help with a booking, but we always got to the bottom of it successfully, eventually. All of this wasn't a problem, but I don't think it would happen in a 5 star place.

Would very happily stay here again and would recommend it, too!

We had the most amazing stay in this beautiful hotel. We were a family of 4 with two birthdays in the month ( although not during our stay) On arrival we were upgraded to 2 suites with a birthday cake in each. Totally unexpected but very much appreciated. The hotel is very tranquil but within easy reach of restaurants and the night market, The staff were so friendly. Breakfast was lovely with freshly cooked , made to order items as well as a great buffet. We ate at the Service 1921 restaurant one night- food was fabulous.
We couldn't have asked for a better stay in Chaing Mai.
Thanks you to everyone there
