I was stunned by the long queue but it moved pretty fast, though you aren’t allowed to use your phones while waiting. The rules here are very strict; they even confiscated my bottle of water.

It is a very interesting experience, however. The buildings and architecture are absolutely beautiful. Makes the overcrowding and flood of tourists and students worth it.

There are many attractions here besides the main viewing that are worth checking out too.

This was free at one point but no longer. It’s an amazing thing to see and experience. Get there early as lines are Long and very busy late morning and afternoon.

The government grounds, where the mausoleum is located, are well maintained and there are several things within this complex/area to see and visit. We waited in line for about 45 minutes, to quietly walk through the mausoleum and view Ho Chi Minh. The walk through the room takes less than 2 minutes, but it's certainly a unique and 'different' thing to do. Plus, during our quick two minutes, there was a guard change, which was interesting to see. Follow the rules when in line -- we saw a couple people get kicked out. It's important to remember that it is ultimately a memorial site, and although this isn't the type of thing that a lot of countries have, it is important and meaningful to the Vietnamese.

The guardsmen were so serious and I was forced to put my hands out of my pocket.
Wonder the corpse is real or not:/
You will feel how much respected Ho Chi Minh is.

We were recommended this city tour by the hotel we were staying at. The bus picked us up. We walked 10,000 steps in one day! We saw the body of Ho Chi Minh. It was well guarded by soldiers. We walked in an orderly fashion past the body. No hands in your pockets. No hats on. No camera or video allowed. It was a chilly day. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative.
