Really enjoyed our experience with Viola cruise. My family did the 3 day 2 night cruise and we had 2 different guides for the entire trip.

Commendation goes to Lucky (our guide) who really tried his best to entertain the guests onboard the ship and ensuring all the guests are well taken care of. Activities done while on the Halong Bay cruise were cave visiting, kayaking to a secluded beach, pearl farm visiting, sunset admiring, cooking demonstration and most importantly being detached from technological gadgets and appreciating the awesome work of mother nature surrounding you while cruising.

Definitely a must-do if you visit the north of Vietnam!

We took the 2 day, 1 night cruise along Halong Bay in the month of March 2018 and our tour guide was Huy (aka as Lucky). I come from Singapore and my partner comes from Canada. The whole cruise experience was comfortable, enjoyable, safe, and secure. Aside from enjoying the spectacular views, the activities were well planned and organized. My partner and I were 1st time to travel on cruise and we took this adventure because we know that this will be a relaxing one and we will experience a romantic time together especially that we come from opposite sides of the world.
Add to that, it’s a common knowledge that Vietnamese are nice people. What we have proven is the patience and reliability especially our tour guide Lucky. There were a couple of times, we made him wait and we left our items in the car and he ensured us that everything would be well and we should not worry. He always reminded us to enjoy ourselves because that’s the main aim of why we are at Viola cruise.
Overall, we rate the experience 4.5 /5. We highly recommend this cruise to friends and travellers.

We did a 2 day/1 night cruise. Our tour guide Lucky was very warm and friendly and made sure every one had a great time. Our group was a great size at about 16 most of the time. Ha Long Bay is pretty crowded, but the cruise route and activities ensured we were almost never competing with huge crowds for the sights.

We had an absolutely brilliant time on this cruise, it's a smaller group of people so you never felt overwhelmed or over crowded.  It included everything but drinks which were cheap enough anyway and Victor our guide and the crew couldn't have tried any harder to make us feel happy it was Victor's passion to make everyone enjoy their time.  The trip included an option for Kayaking or a bamboo boat trip.. we chose the bamboo boat trip which was amazing but we saw the people kayaking alongside us and it looked super fun as they take you around an island with floating villages which was a fantastic experience, then they took us to a floating pearl farm where I brought a beautiful pearl from there in Halong bay! Then they took us to a little beach for 30 minutes to check it out.. they always try to avoid the crowds with Viola cruise which I loved.. they even choose a different bay away from the swarms of other boats so your sleep isn't interupted! The cave trip the next day was a great experience.. take a jacket though as it's cold that early! Again I want to say thank you to Victor as I've not experienced such hospitality on a trip like that before he sent us some photos he took of us by email a matter of hours after the trip! Definitely choose Viola and do a 1 nor 2 night stay we did a 1 night  stay

We had an excellent time in Halong Bay, we chose the 2 days 1 night cruise and it was the best decision. We were afraid it will be too crowded, fortunately Viola is one of the few cruises which are allowed to sail on the "Bai tu long Bay" part of Halong Bay, where you will be fully able to enjoy the scenery without the boat traffic and madness in Halong Bay. HOI (Lucky) was an excellent host!!! So funny, informative and friendly! He constantly took care of us, each minute of our stay, he made us feel safe and really made sure we"re having the time of our life! Speaking of safety, on the transfer boat we always had our floating vests on and we were constantly guided and all security measures were taken so that we are at all times safe, this was beyond our expectations really.
The boat is extremely smooth, you never feel it moves, this may also be due to the calm water of Halong Bay.
Loved the activities as well, we visited the floating fishermen village, the pearl farm (whaaat? :D), a cave where I chickened out and did not want to enter (too many people), a small secluded beach where we enjoyed the surreal scenery, did some funny squid fishing in the evening, tai chi in the morning at sunrise on the roof deck, enjoyed a vegetable carving demonstration and even made our own spring rolls! I'm saving a special section for the food, which was in ridiculous quantities, and delicious! We ate like crazy and really took a dive in the Vietnamese cuisine.
The transfer from our hotel to the port and back went smoothly, we even enjoyed the stop we made on the way, at the arts & crafts center, enjoying the handmade vietnamese paintings, artworks, clothes, etc.
I fully recommend this cruise for a memorable experience!
