This high rise modern hotel is near the very centre of the city and within easy walking distance of most of the museums, Post Office, Catherdral, Opera house and restaurants. It has a very grand entrance attended by courteous and friendly staff. In fact all of the staff are friendly and helpful.
We arrived from the airport at 6.45 am and had to wait in the lobby for a few hours before they could find a room available. The exchange rate was not good at the hotel and the prices quite high...... a cup of coffee was 135,000 Dong!
However, once in our room things started looking up. The room was bright (we were on the 13th floor) and the bathroom cavernous with a double shower.
You could easily get wifi in the room and for that matter anywhere in the hotel.
The pool was on the 3rd or 4th floor and was glass sided on two sides. There was a gym on the same floor and spa treatment rooms.
The breakfast choice was huge catering for all tastes.
I've knocked off a star for the pure reason that we were given outdated and poor maps of the city by the hotel when we requested one and the fact that it was quite expensive to dine and drink.
Would we return? Possibly not, bearing in mind that there are several cheaper and good quality hotels nearby (Caravelle, Sheraton, Rex etc) that are closer to the centre and attractions.
Bear in mind that there is a lot of building work going on in Saigon at present so many pavements are unusable and the continuing construction of the Metro is causing traffic and pedestrian chaos.
