The hotel is located in the city center - nearby you find many bars and restaurants. The rooms upstairs are spacious and very clean and quiet. The breakfast is ok but nothing special.

Although we had a flight in the afternoon and had to check out in the morning it was possible to have a shower before we finally picked our loggage.

I really can recommand this place.

Room Tip: choose a romm upstairs with balcony

We chose Cat Huy based on the reviews from Trip Advisor. The hotel was comfortable and clean but the alleyway is a bit off putting. The staff were sufficiently accommodating. As this is a budget hotel water was not supplied everyday however it was a treat to have real tea provided. The morning market in the alley way was a bit of a shock but entertaining as people were buying their fresh food including seafood for the day. If you are on a budget definitely yes. While we enjoyed the tours they organised we didn't always get what was included in the brochure so probably go to a travel agent in the area to organise your tours.

Its down an Alley at the out of town end of the Backpacker area. It is at the interface between a real Vietnam and the Vietnam of banana pancakes and second rate Italian staples. The hotel does not have a lift. It does serve and fully adequate breakfast light breakfast of omelette etc or of a good bowl of Pho Bo it thats your scene. The rooms are comfortable, I second the suggestion to go for the slightly more expensive rooms and the rooms I saw were definitely not 'tired'

Thoroughly recommended.

This hotel is run by friendly courteous staff in an area that is in walking distance to most things you will want to do in HCMC. The rooms are clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. Spend the extra $4 for the better room - it's worth it. Beds are really firm but I like that.
We stand on the 6th floor. No lift. 110 steps my daughter counted. After staying four nights and climbing those stairs multiple times a day my legs were relieved to check out! In saying that, I would definitely stay here again. Maybe on the 3rd floor!
It is down a small lane that is a bustling produce market in the morning which in itself was a great place to spend time taking photos.

Room Tip: Spend the little bit extra for the better room

I have no idea how this place got traveler's choice...
The rooms are so old... nothings looks good. The sink is full with cracks. There is no where to put stuff for two people near it.
The bed and the pillows are so hard that after 2 nights there we had back and neck pain.
You have a small kitchen (only sink ), but you can't cook.
There is no light or air through the window (only one), so we had to turn on the AC all the time. The AC is straight to the bed so unfortunately it made us cold and little sick.
The breakfast is the worst we had in Vietnam - you have a menu and you can choose one dish & one drink. For example, if you want coffee you can't enjoy a refill or a juice. Also there are no vegetables, you get only one banana in the end (in both breakfasts we had).
The worst thing is the entrance the place which is from kind of a "market alley", where you can't go properly.
The only good thing is the staff, that although don't speak good English were very king.
In this price we slept is hotels with king-sized bed and private balcony.
