I visited here as part of a walking tour, lots of exhibits outside mainly of planes, tanks, helicopters and bombs. Inside I took the time to visit the Agent Orange exhibition which graphically shows the after effects of chemical warfare. Another area well worth a look is all about the servicemen who didn't want to fight and disagreed with the war.

You can say it's propaganda but go with open mind.

The Op Orange exhibition is very moving and can be disturbing for children

Mostly one sided info, but i still think its worth visiting. The museum shows horrifying pictures and facts of what the US did to them, atleast thats what i got from it. Its good to see the horrendous things the country had/ still has to go through to understand the vietnamese people. This museum is superficial though, it gives you a quick summary of the war with shocking images and thats it, if you are looking for detailed explanations and deepsighted info, then this is not the place.

This place was on top of my 'to do list' during my stay in HCMC, athough I knew that it would be controversial. I was very interested, as I remembered the Vietnam war taking place at the time.
The War Remnants Museum is a large building absolutely full of information and photographs, yet naturally, told through Vietnam eyes.

I was very surprised by my own reaction. Some of the photographs were publised at the time and I remembered a few of them - but I found it all too much; it upset me and I had to come away.

Is it a great place to go? - Not in my opinion.
Do I think one should go? - Yes, definitely.

This is an excellent place to visit and read about the terrible war that took place. It's really sad when you see and read the stories etc. Man can be really terribly cruel! Spend time here and really absorb the events that took place and the sadness. Very touching! There are pictures and equipment from the war on display here. A visit here is a must! There are displayed on the outside as well.
