We've stayed at La Paloma Hotel just to nights on our way to Mui Me and picked this Hotel because of the good rating even though it was more expensive than most other Hotels in Nha Trang.
The staff was very good and helpful and the pool area was nice. But the room wasn't very clean (found a cockroach) and it just had a very small window. We were happy when we left. Moreover, there haven't been many restaurants around and it was far away from the city center.

We had a very bad experience with the owner who tried to rip us off. We made a reservation for a standard room, that we saw on the website and looked like a very nice, new room. However when we arrived he showed at first a great room in a very nice and new building (explaining us that we did have to pay an upgrade for this 'special' room). Because of the fact that the only difference with the standard room would be the balcony we decided to wait for the normal standard room we reserved, that was not ready yet. The standard room was actually very surprising and had nothing to with the other room!! It was so ugly, old and looked like a jail because it hadn't any window! When we complained about the huge difference and about the really nasty room, the only answer we got was, "well you can cancel your stay here or you pay the upgrade". Finally we decided to pay the upgrade but we really felt obliged to do so because we had no other choice.
When checking the website afterwards we saw that the standard room was announced on the website, with the picture of the 'nice' room, indeed without balcony. But then, the website didn't function anymore for some reason and after two days a photoshopped picture was placed on the website with the 'jail' room. At the check out we commented that we found out about the trick, but the owner suddenly couldn't speak English anymore, very strange and sad that he wasn't able to take some responsibility or at least speak to us because of courtesy. His very nice niece tried to arrange it by explaining some things about the website and the way they treat people, however without any success or apologies either. By reading better the comments on the booking sites and trip advisor we found out that it was not the first time that they use the same trick, so please be careful and don't pay any thing for this terrible prison room.
We found used shampoo and soap in our room that wasn't changed during out stay and I think it's the only hotel in Vietnam that doesn't give you a small bottle of water every day. They also tried to charge us the whole minibar, that even wasn't filled when we arrived.
Finally we like the pool and the breakfast was ok. The hotel is located quite out if the town.

We stayed in the La Paloma Hotel for 3 nights and we were happy with the room (it was really clean!:-)),the location, the amazing garden/poolarea and especially the staff of the hotel. They were very friendly and happy to help us with whichever questions we had. Furthermore, the breakfast was delicious. The location of the Hotel was a short scooterdrive (10-13 minutes) north of the tourist center of Nha Trang. The beach is just a 5 min walk and as only locals use it you won't be bothered by anyone selling sunglasses or food. We would always come back!

This was a lovely little place, not a lot of rooms so book early. It's located outside of the city centre which is great if you're looking for a more local experience. It's very close to the beach and there are many great eateries and street food around the area. The room was very clean and the pool was lovely. Basic breakfast included and the owners are very helpful. If you stay here make sure you head to the beach for sunrise or sunset... you will be amazed at the amount of local activity at these times on a daily basis.

Stayed here in July for 2 nights and was very impressed. The lady on reception helped us out all the time what with booking cabs, recommending restaurants, bars and even booking us the train to Hoi An. The pool is beautiful, as is the gardens. The bedrooms were very modern and clean with nice cold aircon. The hotel is 5 min cab over the bridge to the more lively area with bars, clubs, restaurants and night markets. About 80,000 dong so £2.50 ish.
1 thing i forgot to mention was it would be good if each room had a hanger for the door to say do not disturb because the cleaners would knock every morning and we'd be still in bed!! Overall very happy with our stay and would definitely return.
