Description: The cuisine of a region is part of its larger culture and an evidence of the preferences that evolve with time due to contacts and historical developments. Being a unique part of the national identity the cuisine also experiences different influences and cannot be restricted by the traditions of one culture or one nation. Probably this is why since Yerevan Pandok came into being we tried to combine the best traditions of Armenian and Caucasian cuisines in our restaurant. Many of the Caucasian dishes have been accepted by Armenians with time and have become an integral part of the Armenian menu. Since the very beginning our mission was to offer our customers dishes that are palatable for our customer from both culinary and cultural perspective, but are also slightly different. This is, though, only part of our comprehensive approach. At Yerevan Pandok we use the highest quality fresh products supplied by our partner farmers and producers. We are extremely consistent in ensuring highest professionalism of and service by our serving staff.I would like to believe that thanks to this approach Pandok Yerevan has become the embodiment of delicious food and a pleasant environment for many of our customers. Quoting one of our customers, “We feel at home here, as this is a place with an easy environment where fresh and tasty food is always in supply”.

The quality and taste of food were amazing.
We went there twice during our 4 days stay as we wanted to try Armenian food. On our second visit the guy at the entrance was really rude and know nothing about the behavior with customers.
Decor of the place is not my type. The service is average. There and almost in all the eating places in Yerevan, second hand smokers means nothing. If you are having problem with this issue, eating in Yerevan is not very enjoyable.
If you want to try Armenian food, you can choose this place, but do not expect too much.

Absolutely great food... The restaurant decor is a bit heavy fire my taste.. feels a bit like a touristy museum experience.. BUT ... both service and food were exceptional !

I have got the impression that this place is targeted on tourists mainly.
Average service, quite high prices and descent dishes.
If you do not know where to go, you can choose this place, but do not expect too much.

My wife and I are visiting Yerevan for a few days. We asked someone where we could get excellent local food without going somewhere fussy and expensive. They recommended this place, which is near the central Republic Square. Excellent choice! We were the only foreigners in our dining room but everyone was friendly and the waiter, who barely spoke English, helped us order. We had a huge meal, including some wine and dessert, and it all came to about $27, including the tip. The food was delicious and nicely presented. We may go back tomorrow.

Just after arriving in Yerevan our guide recommended Tavern Yerevan. On our walk my wife and I checked out the restaurant. It was almost 5PM and we were told that they were fully booked from 6:30 onwards that night. A wonderful young hostess said she would see if they could fit us in, so long as we finished by 6:30.

In minutes we were seated and after we had studied a 20 page, or longer, menu with pictures and English descriptions we were visited by a supervisor/manager, rather than a regular waiter. "Jack" chatted with us about their restaurant and asked if he could explain anything in the menu, or make recommendations. Following his recommendations we ordered two salads for sharing and two entrees, plus a glass of wine and a beer. Salads were wonderful, as were the entrees.

Star of the meal was a lamb dish cooked in a 'bag' made with traditional Armenian bread and wonderful spices. Our bill for this meal, plus a wine and beer refill was 15,000 drams after rounding up. (about US$31)

The supervisor/manager returned to talk to us about our meal. We chatted for some time and told him that thanks to his hostess and himself we enjoyed a wonderful experience with a totally new cuisine. Very highly recommended, but do make reservations! Oh, we made a reservation for our last night in Yerevan. Being a Saturday they will have live Armenian Folk music for part of the evening.
