Based on the "our pick" in Lonely Planet, we booked to stay here. The rooms are clean but in real need of an upgrade and incredibly basic. To be this far out of town it needs to be cheaper: it's $2 into town, and $2 back (2 people), adding at least $4 onto the price of the room! The staff are friendly, but in Cambodia, the staff are almost always friendly. A/C units are not like anything I've seen before! That said, I slept well here and all the tuk-tuk drivers know where it is. We moved to a different place after two nights.

Rooms are pretty big, staff very helpfull, but we had a feeling we were overcharched. We're not sure off course, but we felt the owner/manager tried to book us on pricier tours and busses. Still, had a nice time. I would reccommend it as a good value for money type of place.

If you are looking for a good cheap budget guesthouse then this place would suit you. Staff were friendly and the rooms were clean enough but for the price, you can not complain. I would definitely stay here again the time I am in town.

Arriving via the night bus from Siep Ream and the excellent hostel there, I was disappointed but too knackered to troop down the stairs to do anything about it. No plug in sink, holes in mosquito mesh covering window, dodgy electrics and sadly no hot water. Room was clean enough. We did use our mozzi nets. Not particularly friendly though any travel enquiries were dealt with efficiently. It was low budget but when I shared the lack of hot water the bill was not reduced which would have been a goodwill gesture.

Room Tip: Top floor can be noisy with groups socialising - not so good when you have an early start in the morning!

Sunday Guesthouse was a nice place to stay in Phnom Penh. There are plenty of similar options and we didn't bother to compare, so here is a breakdown of what we liked and what we didn't like so much:

+ price
+ big beds
+ good food
+ organized tours
+ nice hangout area
+ nice family

- low shower pressure!!!
- a bit far from the action
- internet is not stable on the upper floors

I didn't read the other reviews, for us there was no problem and we will go back there and maybe also go to Sunday Guesthouse in Sihanoukville.

Room Tip: Upper floor has a nice hangout area, but internet is not good.
