Sashah Khan has done a wonderful job restoring this tucked away gastronomic delight. Although we had to call three times to reach someone for a reservation, once we arrived, we were treated to a visual delight, placing us back in the 1920s with carefully crafted accoutrements to enhance the experience. What the wait staff lacked in experience--many were young--they made up in attitude and effort. My borscht was one of the best I have tasted around the world--rich with chunks of beets and vegetables and served piping hot, unlike many restaurants these days. The beef stroganoff was tender and juice with enough spice to make it interesting but not over powered. My wife and I sampled different drinks that were selected from the period. In all, a wonderful dining experience that should not be missed.
