Me and my Wife stayed in this Hotel for 13 nights. We enjoyed the stay very much, the staff is very friendly and helpful, room was very nice for the price you pay.Breakfast is continental and is good. You can't go wrong for the location, every thing is close by.
We were promised a wake up call early in the morning but we didn't get one ,luckily the wife woke up in time otherwise we would have missed the flight back home.

Spent 5 nights at the Grand Peninsula in early May 2011 and would certainly recommend this small hotel to any travelers looking for a convenient place to base yourself to explore Istanbul. The location is perfect, walking distance to most sights, close to all the great eateries in the Sultanahmet area and a very clean, welcoming hotel. Ramazan on reception was very helpful with advising places to visit and general information. Our room was very clean, certainly roomy and all the facilities were adequate for our needs. Breakfast in the rooftop room was fantastic and the bread was "to die for". Unfortunately due to rainy weather we only had one morning when we sat on the outside terrace for breakfast and the views across the rooftops to the Sea of Marmara were entrancing. All the staff were friendly, helpful and extremely welcoming. I would most definitely stay here if I ever get back to Istanbul.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view foe the street.

We stayed at the Grand Peninsula for 4 days in May 2011. It was exactly as advertised. The room was clean, breakfast was good, and the staff was always helpful. They spoke excellent English. The free Internet in our room was dependable and we were able to upload pictures with no problem. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Istanbul.

The hotel is located in Sultanahmet (this is the part of Istanbul where most sights are located - Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Topkapi palace etc.), it is in a quiet street but close to a lot of other hotels and restaurants. The hotel has a great terrace and view, breakfast is served here (we found the breakfast a bit simple but ok). The rooms are clean and everything seems newly renovated, bathroom very nice with good shower. Only criticism: beds could be softer..
The people at reception were always friendly and helpful.

Tip for those who are out to explore Istanbul's nightlife: You will find nice restaurants here and you can walk up a few steps to look at Blue Mosque all lit up at night (beautiful!!do not miss) but there are hardly any bars or nightclubs in Sultanahmet. Night life in Istanbul happens around Taksim square. the young people hang out here - to get there you need to take the Tram T1 to Kabatas then hop on the funicular to Taksim. this can take up to 25 or 30min one way. Public transport is quite inefficient and crowded in Istanbul..and runs only until 12..

My boyfriend and me spent 3 nights at the Grand peninsula and it has been a great deal! The hotel is nice, room clean and breakfast very nice . You get everything you need.
Location is fantastic just few meters away from Blue Moschee, Saint Sophia and Topkapi Palace.
The staff was really friendly and ready to satify our requests or to advice us where to go.
