Excellent hotel and great location.
Located right behind the Blue Mosque and views of the Marmara sea.
Bulent and Maria were very helpful and nice.
A very good stay for cheap price with a great breakfast.
Good value and great location near all the main attractions.
Will visit again soon.
Thank you.
Regards.
Nayaab.

There was 4 of us caming from Zagreb-Croatia. Hotel is clean, nice breakfast, pleasent staf and location is perfect. Rooms are small, but all you need is clean bed and hot water. All of main historycal monuments are close to hotel. Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Roman Cisterns, hippodrome,Grand Bazaar...The owners:Maria and Bulent are very nice. They both speak english very good and offers you help for finding locations, restaurants etc. Hotel & hostel YUNUS EMRE is what you need: clean, pleasent, cheap and close to main attractions. We are planing to visit Istanbul again and stay at Yunus Emre.

I found this hotel and they only had two days to offer us, but it was ok because we found the rest of the days in a nearby hotel. we were sorry because we felt really nice there and did not want to go, the staff really nice, the place superb, really close to attractions, breafast ok, nearby restaurants really good, it was fine we could go walking everywhere

I've stayed here three times now in the last three years in both the hostel-style rooms and the hotel rooms. The hostel rooms are about what you'd expect: average, but they're also very cheap. They don't have AC, the bunk beds are short, and the bathroom is all-in-one with the toilet, sink, and shower-head all in the same area. The hotel rooms are quite nice with AC units, traditional bathrooms, and normal beds. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace is beautiful in the mornings, and the breakfast is a traditional Turkish breakfast of tomatoes, cucumbers, cheeses, and bread. Some mornings there was French toast.

Bulent and his wife are very nice, speak English very well, and can offer all sorts of recommendations for restaurants and attractions, offer tips on visiting the popular tourist sites, and even led me to a good laundromat once.

The hotel location is excellent from a tourist standpoint: it backs right up to the Blue Mosque, is a 5 minute walk away from the Hagia Sofia and Basilica Cisterns, and is a 10-15 minute walk away from the Grand Bazaar if you learn your way around the back streets. It's only a 5 minute walk to the Sultanahmet stop on the tram-line too, so you can get to other parts of the city by hopping on the tram, including the airport (you'll have to switch lines to get on the Metro at Zeytinburnu, but it's pretty easy).

This great location offers only one negative: the early morning Muslim call to prayer from the Blue Mosque, which is the largest mosque in Istanbul, is quite loud, and can certainly wake you up if you're a light sleeper. It's been about 50-50 for me on the 20 or so total days I've spent at Yunus Emre as to if I'm awakened by it or not, and some rooms on the backside of the hotel seem to be worse than others. That's a minor complaint, and if you keep your windows closed or use earplugs, you'll likely not even notice it.

Room Tip: Hostel rooms don't have AC and are way less comfortable than the hotel rooms, but that is to be expected with hostel rooms. For hotel rooms, try to get a room closer to the front of the building (southwest side) and away from the back (northeast side) as the early morning prayer is louder in the back rooms.

If you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the old city this is good value and perfect location - 2 mins to Sultanahmet Square and Blue Mosque .
We needed to add extra days to our booking at last minute and they were extremely helpful to find us rooms .
The owner Bulent, his family and staff are charming , smiling and helpful !
If you're looking for luxury this is not for you and if you want housekeeping you must ask but it is great value which is not easy to find in Istanbul.

Room Tip: Room 401 - a double - on top floor
