The staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and charming. Nothing was too much trouble, everything we asked was answered with a smile and offers of tea. Trips were booked, money was exchanged, advice about destinations was given. The hotel is charming, spotlessly clean, quiet, well-equipped and the beds are very comfortable. There is a roof terrace with a 360 view of the Bosphorous, the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia and the surrounding quaint and interesting area. The hotel's proximity to Sultanahmet Square means that you are five minutes walk away from enough to keep you entertained and fed for several days. The buffet breakfast is delicious, generous and open from 7.30 to 10.30, which means you can be up early for sight-seeing or have a lie-in and still not miss out. Taxi transfers were offered when we reserved the hotel - we accepted them and they were prompt, efficient and comfortable. Everything about this weekend break was lovely - glad we didn't listen to the scaremongers and determined to go.

We travel in and out of Istanbul several times each year, as we do business in the Middle East and Europe. Istanbul is our favorite "base" city for longer trips, and we do our stop overs here, often trying different hotels/restaurants each time to experience more of the city. We lead groups to turkey and like to know the best options available so have to keep moving - there's a lot of good to choose from in this city! That being said, we were overall disappointed in this location. If you've never been to Istanbul it offers a great experience, but if you travel there often, you know quickly there are better values available. They hosted a group we led for one night, and is privately for two. The service we received before they knew we were the tour operators was...lets just say much less gracious than after they learned who we were! The rooftop view is great, it maintains a good old ottoman feel without being too traditionally overwhelming for westerners. Close walk to Sultanahmet but not a good walk option from the most usable tram line you'd take from Atarturk, as we often do. They took care of our group, fixing room problems etc., and may be a great value (our local tour operators enjoyed that, I'm sure!) but it isn't a location we plan to use again. Better value options are plentiful in our experience. However, it is overall a GOOD option, and you wouldn't be disappointed, especially if you arrange transport form airport and just want to be close to the big sites (7 min walk) - may be an excellent value with that in mind.

This hotel is set in the old town of Istanbul, Sultanahmet, The staff were very friendly, particularly the bar man serving in the lovely rooftop terrace, whilst I was enjoying the evening sun and amazing views. The hotel is situated a short walk away from the Blue Mosque and other main attractions. The old town is very quaint with some lovely, bars, shops and restaurants. An ideal base for a city break.
