Basic clean room. This place is old but comfortable and I wouldn't change it. Best position on this beach as other more upmarket hotels are located in areas which appear polluted. The restaurant is fantastic with large range of Mezze and meats at very good prices. Good day and night at the beach.

Location is perfect (rooms have terraces on the beach), and although the accomodation is very basic, it was a great place to wind down in before we headed for home.
It's about 5km away from Ephesus and about an hour's drive to Izmir airport.
The restaurant here deserves special mention though. It looks like a typical Turkish beach restaurant with a great view. However, it is so much more than that, serving excellent but inexpensive home cooked Turkish dishes and barbequed foods, plus some of the best chips we have ever tasted! Service was also very good.
Free wifi is only available in the site shop area.

Peaceful, beautiful, on the beach & absolutely fabulous. Cheap at the price. Rooms are simple but very comfortable, have a fridge, and lead on to the long quiet beach. Great swimming. Nice and cool in the heat of July. An easy & cheap minibus taxi ride to Ephesus or into Kusadasi or Selcuk. There is a great restaurant with a balcony next to the beach, serving authentic Turkish cuisine at very reasonable prices compared with Istanbul & most European cities. There is also a small shop with some food items, cigarettes, sweets etc. Good (most of the time) WiFi signal. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. A perfect base for exploring Ephesus. There is an airport transfer from Izmir Airport at an extra charge. I definitely want to return here.

My stay was for six nights and oh boy just what I needed. A comfy bed, quiet and peaceful area steps from the beach and many historical places without crowds or families! 15 minutes from Kusadasi (which has a good night life) and about 4 minutes from Ephesus. If you are looking for WiFi to post all your vacation pictures, be advised that is only available in the market area not in the rooms and that there is no TV in the rooms nor AC. I can't complain about this because it is what I was looking for, disconnecting from every day stuff including social media and news. You can ask for directions on where to look for the public bus that can take you to Kusadasi or Selcuk or ask the reception to make a call for you. Do not expect daily room cleaning unless you tell the reception to do so; this kind of surprised me but at the same time gives you a secure feeling that no one enters your room. Bathrooms come with no toiletries. Daily Turkish breakfast is included and the waiters are really pleasant.

Remember if you are looking for a quiet place, without technology involved and steps from the beach, there you go.

This brings to mind the Florida Keys the way it used to be. A really peaceful, unpretentious, lovely laid back setting, run with quiet efficiency, very simple rooms with individual porches opening out on the beach. Nice touch to give beach pillows as well as sun bed mattresses with each unit. No need to bring beach towels. Breakfast is delicious, the servers are sweet and helpful, lunch and dinner menus very good, and the prices are terrific compared to Istanbul. The little shop stocks water, soft drinks, beer, wine, bread, cheese and some basics to keep in your fridge. You can catch a dolmus ( minibus) right at the gate for a few lira, to Ephesus or Selcuk. The hotel will send a car for you to pick you up at the Izmir airport for 35 euro which saves all sorts of hassles. If you go over the little bridge at the canal or river to the right of the motel , you come to an amazing empty beach that goes on for ever, it is even nicer for swimming. The beach at the hotel was fine but shallow and churned up by the waves. Wifi works well at the little shop with its shaded seating area, but not elsewhere. The whole area feels really safe, and would feel very comfortable, I think, for the solo traveller. You don't need to have a car, and we were told by other guests that the motel will help you rent and have it delivered there if you want one.
The Dereli Motel is heaven for people who appreciate simplicity and peace. It is not luxurious or showy, and is terrific value. We would have booked for much longer than 2 nights if we had known how lovely it was, but sadly had to catch our flight back to Istanbul. I hope it stays the way it is and doesn't have a makeover/ takeover by a big hotel chain.

Room Tip: The rooms are very simple and it is very helpful to have the fridge. The individual porches are wonderful. Mosquitos were not a problem.
