I stayed at the Gloria Hotel at the Jaffa Gate 29-31 January 2016 in Jerusalem. It is a very comfortable destination. It is well-located 100 metres from the Jaffa Gate, and 100 metres from the Tower of David and Museum. A quick brief walk gets you to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and Christ's tomb. Lots of market-style shopfronts are nearby, and the Armenian Quarter, and Jewish community, and the shopping arcades.
The hotel has a very well-presented foyer with comfortable spaces and seating, in nice niches, a bar that is reasonably stocked, and the staff are polite, quick to assist, and always available. The laundry service is cheap and quick - a rare event as most hotels overcharge.
Rooms are very clean, with tiled floors (a little cool in winter), air conditioned, windows that open with fly screens, quite nicely finished with furniture that is not worn, TV with English channels, and is all works well. Bathroom is clean and well-finished and supplied daily with Dead Sea bath products, good water pressure and consistent hot water even at peak times. Fridge is supplied. Location is quiet. Liquor store with soft drinks across the street, inexpensive felafel restaurants, an okay pizza restaurant, an Italian restaurant, and nice Armenian tavern nearby. The dining room is a bit pedestrian in its food, with good salads, but the hot options are not exciting although wholesome.

Overall, it really is a very good hotel with competent staff, and no surprises or disappointments. I would definitely go again, and I recommend it as a pleasant and comfortable destination.More
