The Montefiore Hotel is located on an alley between Schatz Street and King George Street. The official location is Schatz Street but its really equally on King George, about a block south of the entrance to the Ben Yehudah pedestrian plaza, about a 15 minute walk to the Western Wall, about 15 minutes to Meah Shearim and about 15 minutes to Mahane Yehudah. The location cannot be beat.
We were in room 202 for 6 nights. The room was small but extremely clean. The bathroom was equally clean with a rain head shower, although with only a half-door of glass to keep the water in the bathtub, the bathroom floor was often soaked.
There was a wall-mounted TV with some local channels, Netflix and Youtube, although occasionally we lost the tv signal for a moment.
There is also a small fridge and a safe.
The breakfast was good, but not outstanding - breads, juices, salads, cheeses, eggs, cereals, sometimes pancakes.
This is a boutique hotel with s small number of rooms. The breakfast area was sometimes a little crowded.
In other words, this is not the King David.
If you want a very decent hotel at a great price and a great location, come here. I would come again.
