We were a group of 10 ranging in age from 61 to 1-year-old last night for a birthday party. We had a fantastic time. Everything was perfect.

It all started over the telephone, when we made our reservation, and the receptionist was very pleasant and explained all of the options.

On arrival, we were presented with a set table outside, and we sat for a while, but when it became too windy in the evening, we requested to be re-seated inside, and the staff were very gracious and accommodating to us.

Upon being seated inside, the waitress immediately provided water to everyone, and this is not so common in many Israeli restaurants (to our sorrow). They also presented crayons and markers and coloring books for the younger children. This was an amazing and thoughtful addition, which I've never seen in an Israeli restaurant.

The process of ordering for the group of 10 was smooth and simple and pleasant. The food was brought quickly and was presented nicely and was very hot and very fresh and very tasty.

The staff work very quickly and attentively. It is obvious that they work together well, and that they enjoy working together.

Two other special points – first, there is musical entertainment just about every night. Ours was a jazz duo. This was a great and pleasant bonus for us, and a useful and productive distraction for our two little boys. Second, the bathrooms are clean and spotless and well-stocked (and this also to our sorrow is not guaranteed in Israeli venues).

The place is large and active and massive- there must've been over 20 tables and close to 100 active diners when we were there. And everything ran smoothly.

There's just nothing critical I can find to say about this place.

Piccolino situated on the small pedestrian mall in Jerusalem serves the quite ordinary choices of dairy italian food, pizzas, pasta and some fish dishes. The Calzone filled with mushrooms was fine, could have been more mushrooms inside. The dough was chewy and tasty, the better part of this Calzone. My wife had fish (Denis also known as Gilt head sea bream) which she enjoyed, it has a lot of bones so be careful when you eat it.
The staff was friendly and gave good service. The food was OK but nothing extraordinary.

We got back to our hotel late and they recommended the Piccolino, We had the roasted vegetable Pizza it was loaded with veggies all cooked to perfection. When we told the owner we were from Kentucky, she knew about horses, she treated us to the house dessert. It was combination of chocolate custard, with chocolate bits it was fabulous. The next day we were leaving Jerusalem, but couldn't wait to have their roasted vegetable salad it was better than the Pizza. Of course we had the Chocolate custard.

Piccolino was recommended by friends when I recently visited from Australia. The food was seriously beautiful. We had big portions of truly delicious food. The presentation and overall atmosphere was more than enough to write home about! We were fortunate enough to meet the owners Anat and Ronnie whose passion for food and people infuses the very heart of this Jerusalem gem.
