An excellent market, had the spices I was looking for.The spice shop spoke English and knew immediately what I was looking for. A shop that makes delicious borekas and wonderful phyllo dough. If I lived in Tel Aviv this
market would be a weekly stop.

phyllo dough. If I lived in Tel Aviv I am sure I would live at this market

Unlike Sarona Market, which is manicured and monitored, Levinski is full of surprises, and, probably, not much changed over the years. Wander down side and back streets and take in wondrous smells and sites. The name is meaningful to me, but I am unable to go into details here. Though it was the name that attracted me, smells and tastes will linger for the epicurean—and even if one is not. I was there close to end of business day, and for a coffee date a few streets away, so was only able to browse through wares of merchants still open later. Better to go earlier to get full sense of things.

Do not expect a market like the ones you know from other countries, It is more an area with many small streets in which you can find anything you are interested in. There are many small stores selling spices and authentic traditional foods. Many restaurants - and overall - it is really inexpensive. There is also a " card" called "Market Bite Card" where you pay 99 shekels and you get to explore the market in order to find the few places on the card where you get from the owners a sample or a dish like: falafel, hummus, ice-cream, freshly squeezed juice and more. At the same time to get to learn about the area (you can get the card on-line)

we orderd it from the net - yall basta - it is not really a market - more a street with authentic small shops, it is a mix and colorful array of flavors and tastes from different communities around the world. From Polish salted herring to Turkish burekas, and Syrian cured olives to Tunisian sandwiches, Shuk Levinsky has everything to eat, drink, smell... you go from one shop to another and taste and have a friendly small talk. you can shop or just experience - there is no pressure. it is a culinary adventure with an opportunity to meet nice people and a warm welcoming athmosfere

This market is mostly F&B, with new cafes and old-style shops serving the more traditional selection of Israeli food. I always see the shops selling spices and such, I would usually come here for a bargain on chocolates. There are a few non-F&B shops but I never really pay attention to them.

Best if you're here for a cheap meal, otherwise you wouldn't get much out of travelling here. On the other hand, some tourists might be here to buy spices, nuts and other food supplies as well/
