This is a small place, tiny in fact. It's nestled in a small suburban strip mall where you'd expect to find a hair salon and maybe local drugstore, but not a great place to eat. Welcome to Zuk Fark (Havat Tzuk in Hebrew).
Too many steak houses in Tel Aviv mistake themselves for high end gourmet restaurants. They are pretentious, overpriced, and these things distract from the meal. Zuk is the exact opposite.
Our very friendly waiter invited us to step over to the butcher shop to pick our meat (she'll be happy to do it for you if that's not your thing), where we had an interesting and learned conversation with the butcher about what to have. Our meal was served family style on a large slab of wood, with grilled veggies to complement the sirloin, "butchers' cut" and lamb chops.
It. was. delicious.
To top it all they have a good selection of beers, a great selection of wine, and excellent dessert.
Did I mention that they don't take an arm and a leg for all this?
