This one if the best sushi resteraunts in Bahrain. They also have a big variety of grilled meats that can be grilled by customers, which is a nice alternative for non sushi lovers. Great place for kids.

Seafood soup and especially the tempura shrimp was delicious. Wanted to order tonkatsu but closest on the menu is katsu chicken curry. If you order this, just get the chicken without the rice and sauce. As served, it looks sloppy and the taste of the curry sauce is drab. Maybe ask for sweet chili sauce in lieu.
Ordered an assortment of nigiri: hotate, shake, tako and hamachi. The best was the hamachi and the worst was the hotate -- an anomalous outcome as I really like hotate. Strangely, moreover, the tako sushi was bifurcated (cut in half).
Philadelphia maki was appreciated by a companion dining with me but the spicy salmon maki seemed like something that KFC would have concocted with its crusty topping.
Drinks (all non-alcoholic) are overpriced, The orange juice does not taste fresh for BD 1.9. Could go down the road to any cafeteria on Shabab avenue and get a better tasting, fresher juice for half the price.
Very nice seating espectially on the second floor where you can eat in a private room sitting on the floor with shoes-off. Cozy place in many respects. Friendly service.
Not sure, all said, that I would go back. Would not categorically reject that option but I would be inclined either to check out one of the many other new japanese restaurants which have sprung up over the course of the last year or two in Bahrain or, alternately, to patronize Sato in the Gulf Hotel, where the check will be more for equivalent items on order, but the quality level commensurately higher (particularly for the nigiri sushi and tonkatsu). I would say in favor of Kabuki that the size of each sushi, particularly the hotate, was ample and larger than average at that.
A minor quibble is that the theme of the kabuki (japanese theater) is not worked into the decor. I mean that the proprietor of the restaurant might have called the restaurant by any japanese word or proper noun (Shogun, Yamamoto, Mount Fuji, etc.)
Depending on your proclivities (may be a plus or a minus) I didn't see any pork dishes on the extensive menu of this restaurant.

-It is my number 1 best sushi place here in Bahrain
- i visit is almost weekly & sometimes 2 / week
- love their Kabuki Special / Poro Maki / Double shrimp
- Their food sometimes smelly and not well done cocked even if i ask them to cook it well!
- I don’t like their drinks a lot! Too sweet in a bad way and too small ! I tried almost all of them but never liked any!
- Their glasses has a fishy and foul smelly odor in almost all my visits unfortunately
- their staff are friendly Jasper , Rance and the bit chubby lady in the reception of the door ! Always happy and helpful and get me what i want in extra things like the sauces and other staffs!
Highly recommended ✌

Thank Salem A
