I go here every few months to buy olives and dates. I often also buy wall hangings and carpets. It has a great vibe and there are plenty of cheap and good restaurants both in and around the souk. People are very, very friendly and the prices are mostly very reasonable. We generally spend around 3 hours in the souk.

Went there hoping to find souvenir. Well there are few option but i just can't believe that there were not many option for magnets in fact all i found is a keychain... and thats the only one i had (glad i brought one cos there were no other even in the airport). Had a taste of food/snack from stalls .. typical arabs food. Brought abayas and really they had a whole basement of abayas girls... unfortunately didn't get to explore more for I'm looking for colored abayas but black. Had Nona.. if any of you know what that is in English haha..sadly it was not ripe enough, so my friend ended up wrapping them and risked it to KSA. Thankfully it survived.

Do you like headscarves?
Do you like Dish-dash clothes?
Do you like light that are embedded into the floor?
Do you like looking at large amounts of currency in glass boxes?

If your answer is 'Yes! I love all that stuff!', then fine - go along to the souk and peruse the seemingly never anding rows of scarf and dish-dash sellers! There are some very nice scarves there and many of my family members have benefitted from them on my return from this place. Their squeals of joy and delight permeating the air on receipt of yet another nicely woven scarf for their growing collection.

I have yet to buy a dish-dash.

Great outdoor restaurant that will be sure to give you more food than you need. Tasty though.
