Plenty to see and shop for here- alongside eateries and general touristy attractive mature of the souk. It's a sizeable scale and could easily spend a couple of hours without problem.
Fruits, spices, teapots, fish - all impressive.

Almubarekiya is my very favourite place to go to when in Kuwait. It is not just a lovely place for tourists to see but it is where the locals buy their fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, clothes, perfumes and just about anything. If you are visiting in the Summer then go in the evening when it is not so hot. But if you are visiting in the fall or winter then you can go anytime you wish. It is the perfect place to try out some traditional Kuwaiti breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you like sea food, then you must try the "grilled Nagroor fish" with fresh bread baked in a clay oven at one of Alshamam restaurants at the souk. Make sure you eat the eye of the fish if you wish to come back to Kuwait. That is what the locals say! The souk is a lovely place to wonder and shop for souvenirs. While there do not miss to check out the underground stores scattered everywhere. Find the stairs and go down for more opportunities to peactice your barginning skills. If you can only go to one place for fun in Kuwait, then let it be Almubarkiya.

I go here every few months to buy olives and dates. I often also buy wall hangings and carpets. It has a great vibe and there are plenty of cheap and good restaurants both in and around the souk. People are very, very friendly and the prices are mostly very reasonable. We generally spend around 3 hours in the souk.
