For starters, it’s in a policed zone of Shia Muslims. Barricades everywhere as well as graffiti. The hotel is very bad. It has trip advisor awards on the wall, but they need to be taken down. The rooms have hair and bugs in them. The toilet is super small and the wall is too close to the toilet so it is cramped. The shower is terrible too. Worst hotel around. Do not stay at this hotel!!!!

we had 4 rooms booked for a week in August, they were meant to be deluxe with city views & balconys but had neither,We couldn't be moved as the hotel was full. The lobby and dining areas were very nice and spotlessly clean, the room however was very dated and tatty but on the plus side it had a fridge and fabulous AC! id read reviews that there was a shortage of hangers and true enough we had one but I had taken some cheap ones and left them for the next guest! We didn't have a kettle and only one pillow each but when asked for both they arrived promptly! The bar was expensive so after the first drink we bought our own in the little shop a few doors down and the hotel had no objections to us drinking it on the little terrace out the front. The hotel is in a good location but although it is only 1 minute from the ocean there isn't any beaches unless you pay to go into a resort. There are lots of places to eat and drink within walking distance, bear in mind some do not sell alcohol so if you want it ask first. Hotel were great at organising taxis but my daughter and friends used Uber and said it was cheaper

Room Tip: ask for the front, air con units and carpark at the back

The best thing about the property was the staff. VERY helpful and friendly. You also couldn't ask for a better location.

The Value for Money was excellent, however this is not a "luxury" property but definitely adequate.

The rooms are a bit basic (and they were only two hangers) but everything was there that you needed (including one UK socket.. very NICE :) )

The beds ok and linen etc. just not "5 star" but for the money VERY GOOD INDEED. (Also had a fridge :) )

The breakfast was basic but again very good for what it was (and included in the price).

2 minutes walk from the shore front and excellent views from there, plenty of fast food outlets around if you want them.

The wireless worked but lost connection a few times, but all you have to do is reconnect, no problem. For the value and staff helpfulness and location (+ breakfast)

I would give it 5 out of 5 and will definitely stay there again.

The reception staff was not helpful, they never tried to offer help whenever needed. once the wifi was not working and we couldnot request uber car, so we reached for the reception for help, the guy just said "we cannot help!!!!!".
Also when we were checking in the lady promised that she will refund the insurance -that will be deducted from our balance in advance- when we check out in dollars, and when we checked out she said she did not have dollars and that we should do the exchange anywhere as they are not a bank!! (Ofcourse we did not accept this and we insisted on getting our money as promised) as we had a plan to catch.
Only the restaurant staff was very nice and helpful.

I think TripAdvisor folks should rescind the two awards that "hotel" if it can now be called a "Hotel" had won in 2013 and 2014, it looked simply like a run down stacked up cheap motel from the inside. NOTHING is as advertised and your complaints are 99.99% ignored, the photos on the net are NOT what you see and meet at that hotel and its immediate surroundings.
I could write a whole book on how bad that hotel is, with armed Syrian militia camping right outside its doors.
NOT to mention the beggars who chases you and lurk right behind you at the ATMs.
If those awards were true then, it might have been before all those high rise buildings blocked its sea view and everything was fresh an nice.
