I was in search of a special place to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary and after some asking around decided to try out the new Indian restaurant, Tamba. Indian food is DH’s favourite and Tamba (located at WTC’s The Hub) defines itself as ‘Indian inspired cuisine’. The menu is full of unconventional combinations and fusion flavours. We tried Delhi Mix: a quinoa bhel puri, King Crab Puri: a pani puri with fresh crab, Bombay Bhaji Rolls: pao bhaji stuffed in a roll and Lamb Kofta: round kebabs with foie gras filled centers.
Our mains consisted of the 48hrs Slow Cooked Lamb and the Mangalorean Chicken.
The contemporary twist to some of India’s most loved street foods delighted and surprised us.
At the end of our meal as we were waiting for our dessert (aptly named Lady Chatterjee with lots of popping candy), the staff surprised us with Fireworks candles and a complimentary dark chocolate mousse dessert called The Break-Up. They also handed us a card and a pair of metal bells. One bell was ours to keep while we had to tie the second bell on their ‘wishing wall’ located in the outdoor seating area.
Not only was the food exceptional, the Tamba staff went out of their way to make our anniversary unforgettable. The metal bell enjoys a prominent place in our living room and our dinner at Tamba surpassed all expectations and remains our most enjoyable and diverse meal.

Although the restaurant doesn't use the term tapas, the small bites/small plates approach is very much like a tapas menu. The ingredients and flavors are inspired by Indian cuisine, but the technics and presentation are beautifuly contemporary. The bar is awesome, producing the best versions of any of the standard cocktails (best Sazerac in the world) but for something truely unique and amazing try the Deccan Margarita!

I have been to Tamba at least 6 times and never once have I been disappointed with the service or the food. The overall experience gets even better in the winter because they open up the terrace and you get to enjoy some of the best Indian food that the UAE has to offer outdoors where the weather is great.

Some of my favorite dishes that are a must try include:

1) Baby Spinach Paneer with the Sweet Chili and Garlic Chips (unbelievable and a great way to start your dinner)

2) The sweet and sour pumpkin is out of the world

3) Tiger Prawns with the coconut is a must

4) Smoked Chicken with the Burrata (WOW)....this is basically their version of the butter chicken

For those with a major sweet tooth...I highly recommend the "Sticky Situation" ....thank me later.

I love this place.

We were served by Steven, who took us through the menu by explaining every dish. He recommended us the dishes that suited our taste buds and requests. The food was excellent especially the duck salad. I highly recommend asking for Steven to be your waiter. I applaud the restaurant for its excellent vibe, food and service ! I also really suggest to have their "break-up" desert

Food is ok, but that's about it. Prices are absolutely unreasonable. They told us that Champagne was 50% so we took two glasses. When the bill arrived they had charged us about 60 Dollars for the two glasses, which is simply insane.

Portions are tiny and service is average.
