Compared to other South American cities a bit crowded and chaotic. Nonetheless a great way of exploring the city.

Every Sunday, Bogota's main roads are closed in the morning till 2pm to encourage everyone to go cycling. What a fantastic idea! We went on a bike tour on a Sunday to experience this ciclovia and it's a fantastic way to see the city in a non touristy way. I even participated in a free outdoor zumba class, went to a house of a man who collects garbage, went to have coffee in a very nice local cafe. Love it.

A traditional space were you can run, walk, bike or just sit around and enjoy Bogotá and its weather. Every sunday you can use some of the main roads to walk around an visit most of Bogota.
You can visit the traditional city center with the cathedral and main square, as well as enjoy a nice bike ride around Bogota.
Please be aware that although the weather is not as hot as expected the sun can cause a serious sun burn if you dont wear any sunscreen.

What a great idea!

We were able to take advantage of this on our last day, since we had a late flight that was delayed two hours.

We did not cycle, but did take advantage of walking the closed streets. It was nice not having to dodge bicycles on the sidewalks, and run to cross streets to avoid rogue vehicles. This means you spend less time looking at your surroundings for cyclists and cars, and more time exploring the neighbourhood stores, sites, and graffiti.

Absolutely love this about Bogota. They close down some of the primary streets so you can bike, run, or just stroll down. You'll see lots of people and just a great environment for exercising.
