Guyana Zoological Park
Reviewed 7 May 2018

my visit to the zoo was wonderful viewed a lot of wild animal and farm animals also, but the birds are the ones that captured my attention with their many colour, habitation and origination.when in Georgetown i recommend that you visit the zoo.another bonus it that if you want to go picnicking the botanical Garden is right on the other side, just a walk over.

Ok....this is no where near as exciting as a zoo in a developed country. But it's still kind of cool. There are a couple of manatees at the entrance which you can see and feed.
Lots of parrots and macaws.
There are also other interesting animals such as jaguars, tapirs etc. There were a few caiman as well as otters etc.
Harpy Eagle looked very majestic....and well fed!
There are even rabbits, wild boar and turtles.
Definitely worth visiting if you are bored or have nothing better to do.

Thank Steve Y

Zoo is not to far from where I stayed so I paid it a visit, It such a nice way of spending a few hours walking through the zoo seeing the tropical animals.

You can purchase food (veges and such) to feed the donkeys and horses and they are eager to show their appreciation. The entire experience was happy and the monkeys are good entertainers too! The wild hog is quite obnoxious and aggressive but the Harpy Eagle (I think?) was fascinating!!!

We were able to walk here from the Rainforest B&B and really enjoyed our visit. We saw Macaws, a jaguar, two cougars, monkeys, and a lake full of manatees! Inexpensive and fun!
