The Nouvata hotel is just across the road from the Anse Vata beach. In warm weather that's a safe place to swim. On Sundays dozens of people go paragliding (when the wind is blowing). From my windows I got good views of Anse Vata and the activities going on.
My room was quiet, comfortable and had a mini-refrigerator, microwave oven, cutlery, plates, cups, etc. The room was properly serviced each day I was there.
Noumea was still suffering from lock-downs and local cafes and restaurants were only open for limited hours.
New Caledonia is largely French speaking in the city, so do learn a few basic sentences, even down to "bon jour" or bon nuit", but most importantly "merci". Politeness goes a long way. After all, we're the visitors.More
