Description: One of the most sought-after beachside restaurants in Nouméa, Le Faré Restaurant is the ultimate place to an al fresco lunch with a magnificent view of the beautiful Anse Vata bay its beaches and windsurfers. Inspired by traditional Melanesian style architecture with its sculpted pillars and thatched roof, Le Faré is an open-air space where you can lie back on a lounge chair and sip a freshly-squeezed tropical juice until sunset. It is also the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing salad, fresh grilled fish or a sumptuous BBQ lunch on the deck overlooking the beach.

Situated right on the beach, and adjacent to the pool at Le Meridien hotel, this Cafe/Restaurant provides a reasonable meal in a traditional thatched ' bure' style facility.
The menu is adequate without being memorable. From Burgers to Steak Tartare, or your choice of BBQ - there is something there for most tastes! Both entrees and main are generous serves indeed. The choice for desert is great and well suited to the hot and humid climate. Service is great so no argument there. Bi lingual too which is a great help. The wine list is almost predominately French so good luck. Beer is mostly local too which is fair enough I guess.
It is very popular with locals for a lazy lunch. Bookings are generally not needed with most walk ins accommodated. Dress is 'resort casual' meaning you can wear just about anything.
The restaurant has outstanding views along Anse Vata beach and into the bay. Beachside tables are absolutely adjacent to the sand - just one step off the floor and its sand between the toes.
The French influence is obvious with topless bathing being not uncommon on the beach in front of the tables, so if your offended then perhaps you should go elsewhere.
It's a good mid range Cafe/Restaurant providing a reasonable feed, good service and excellent atmosphere.
Always enjoyable.

Had lunch here, nice fast service and the food was good. Not too sure about the cats begging for food under the table.

Great view right on the beach. The service is quite good and the menu has quite a number of choices on it. I had the fish burger which was a minced fish patty with a slice of yellow cheese and way too much tomato sauce. Worth a lunch on the beach.

Our second time staying at the Le Meridien and what a shame Le Fare let the side down . All the other restaurants at the Le Meridien have a amazing service except this one. We ate twice their on this trip and both experiences were not great mainly due to the poor service. Both times we ate it was empty and not busy at all. After waiting 15 mins we were given one menu for 2 people and when the food finally arrived no cutlery was given we had to get it ourselves. We asked for water 3 times and when it finally came no glasses were given we had to drink out of empty wine glasses. To be honest the staff were rude, lazy and could not not care less. When your enjoying a great day at the pool or beach a nice lunch at this would place would have been the perfect end to the day which didn't happen twice on our trip.
