I visited Malecon Cafe during a brief stop at Noumea as part of a cruise. I was really disappointed with this cafe. Unfortunately the waitress didn't speak much English so that didn't help. They do have free wifi but it is very slow. I had a milkshake which was okay. My husband had an iced coffee which he said was awful and tasted burned. Also, it cost us $20 AUD for both drinks!! Yes, we did choose to stop here but we were caught off guard with this price as we weren't able to calculate the exchange rate from the francs shown on the menu so we were very surprised to find out the final bill.
I wouldn't waste my time on this place - perhaps better to find some place off the main drag.

We had stopped at Les 3 Brasseurs for a beer and then walked next door to Malecon Café where my spouse and I shared a chocolate mousse made with Nutella and a latte. Indoor and outdoor setting and several dart boards for guest entertainment.

There are a few cafe/restaurants in this area but the Malecon seemed to open most of the time and provided a good range of food - and, as mentioned by Sammylfb, they have an English menu. The staff were friendly and the food pretty good.

Walking into the cafe they could immediately tell that we were not locals so offered us an English menu which was nice.
We only ever came her for breakfast and got the classic bacon and eggs. The eggs were cooked perfectly both times and could have as much bread as we wanted.
The staff are very friendly and service was quick.
Its in a lovely spot just across from the beach.
