We have stayed at Vila Chaumiéres for nine days. Our aim was to go diving and see the island. The restaurant is very good, the dinners are excellent. the restaurant area is over the water, and a part of it is in a "little jungle". Its beautiful with birds songs, flowers, small lights, and even sunset-view. We lent kayaks and had a little trip up and down the lagoon-angle.
The manager, Richard, is really helpful with everything you will need. The staff is nice. The rooms in the nice and nice placed bungalowes, are kleen.

Having been in Port Vila for over a week we were looking for somewhere special to have a celebration meal. The restaurant overlooks water, is clean and tidy and service was friendly. We had delicious seafood crepes, a lobster salad and the scotch fillet steak, all up a fantastic meal. Transport from town was easy using the local buses.
An enjoyable evening. A bit pricey but worth it.

We stayed here for five nights in April, the owner couple and staff were very helpful and friendly, they gave us a lot of travel advice and helped us book some tours as well. The restaurant here offered a great view over the lagoon, the free continental breakfast was nice, they also offered other breakfast options with extra charge. The bungalow was quite cozy, pool here was nice and clean.
Overall it was a great experience. The only disadvantage was a bit far from the city center, I found it quite struggle to negotiate the bus transfer fare every time we went to the city center because they might charge whatever they want if you didn't let them know in advance that you know the usual price.

I'd asked the hotel to organise a transfer for me, from the airport, which all went smoothly.

On arrival I received a friendly welcome and was shown to my room, which was above the office and bar (noise was never an issue though).

The room was simple, but large, with tea/coffee, fridge and armchair. The comfortable bed was covered with a mosquito net. My eyes were immediately drawn to the large balcony with chairs, table and a beanbag. The view was magical, a view through multiple palm trees at one storey up. A look down revealed the overwater restaurant and the lagoon.

The tropical/continental breakfast was perfect for me (orange juice, fresh fruit, croissant and toast with preserves) but there was an option to pay a supplement for a more substantial breakfast. I also had lunch/dinner here, several times, which was delicious and the views, whilst dining, are delightful.

With friendly, helpful hosts, wonderful staff, a supermarket just 400m away and regular (cheap) transport to the centre of Port Vila I couldn't have been happier here. It's not 'luxurious' in the material sense, nor does it set out to be, but the secluded feel of the place, as somewhere to escape, to relax, was all the luxury I needed.

It starts with being picked up at the airport - a walk through a tropical garden to our bungalow - a swim in the clean pool - then dinner on the deck over no.2 lagoon. The restaurant food and wine list is one of the best in Vila. The friendly staff are a wonderful tourist info centre. Transport by 10 seater bus to anywhere is easy since Vila Chaumieres is on the main road.

Room Tip: The garden Bungalows are lovely and large. Lagoon rooms have views of the water through the tree tops. enjoy. Sally+Roy
