Best place to see the areal view of old Tbilisi. Catch the cable car in the evening and spend 2 - 3 hrs.

You must do this while in Tbilisi. There is no better view and no better way to get a quick overview of the city. It is part of their municipal transit system and thus, a fair price for a round trip. The gondola cars are clean and new and in excellent mechanic shape.

Upon reaching the top, pause to take a photo of the city and river below and the castle and parliament building across. There are numerous vendors selling food and drink and tchotchkes. Walk across the top of the hill for a few minutes to the giant Mother Georgia statue, then return back either to take the gondola back down or, if you like adventure, the zip line to the nature park behind the mountain for 30 Lari per person.

There isn’t much to the nature park but it’s a world away from the look and feel of Old Town Tbilisi on the other side of the castle hill.

This is a nice ride which gives you great view to the city. I went up the hill on foot, exploring the beautiful alleys of the old town, and then bought a ticket to the Rike Park for my way back. It is a short ride (maybe 5 minutes tops), but it's cool.

The price is 2 GEL for each person (each way) but you cannot purchase the tickets in cash; you have to purchase the plastic card first (for 2 GEL) and charge it with the amount you need. For example, for 1 person, one way, you should pay 4.5 GEL (2 GEL for the card and 2.5 for the ride). The good thing is that you can buy only 1 card, and charge it for 4 people. Another good thing is that if you keep the receipt of the card, you can take back your money (2 GEL) later. The card can also be used for other public transportation as well.

This is my first visit of Georgia and in the first date, I decided to go to the Kartlis Deda and the Telecabin near that. One thing that I shocked was the Telecabin’s staff behavior. If they acted like thief, don’t excite. Too much rude and impolite. I’m sorry for that department that they are working with this kind of staff!
