We (four of us) went to Seoul somewhere around end of April to May 2012, stayed for 4 nights... We booked ourselves a bunk bed room with bathroom en-suite... it was only 80,000 KW/ night

Room is not big or spacious, quite cramp actually because we have big luggage bags. But the room was clean and the essential was we had the bathroom to ourselves...

May also find clothes hanger, hair dryer, toilet paper, tissue paper and television in the room... bed is comfy with individual pillow and comforter... though outside is cold, and even if we turn on the air-conditioner, it is still just nice, not too freezing or hot... no fan in the room though, only in the lounge, room is only equipped with air-conditioner...

Kitchen and lounge are shared/ common rooms... guests are free to cook... kitchen is equipped with almost everything that is needed... (stove, cooking pans, pots, cutleries, knives, water boiler, plates, bowls, oil, sugar, salt and pepper and etc) there was this other 2 girls (presumably from China) that stayed next room during our stay, but unfortunately they are not the considering type, after their cook-off, they would leave the cooking utensils as it is... they don't do the washing... but I think the guesthouse (GH) staff eventually helped them with the clean up... thus the kitchen and lounge is always clean and in tip top condition...

Computer with Internet connection is also available outside the lounge, but funny thing is we could not change the language to English, and everything we typed comes out in Korean... so in the end, we gave up and used the wifi service with our mobile phone instead... speed is alright...

Every morning we helped ourselved to the free flow of bread, jam, butter, coffee and tea... if you opt for authentic Korean breakfast, the night before you can just order take out and keep it in the fridge, their fridge is open to all too, as long as you label your food... we have no problems with keeping our food in the fridge, no one fondle with our food... there is 1 mineral water for us upon arrival at the GH... and you can refill water from the water dispenser in the kitchen (choice of hot or room temperature water)

Security in the GH is pretty okay – cameras in the common rooms and outside the doors... all guests are given an acess card with the room key, door is locked at all time and is only open with acess card... also there's no curfew, so guests are free to roams the streets day till night... however GH vicinity can be pretty quiet at night, so walk in group and just be caution at all times... the place is not scary, but generally is not safe in any part of the world these days, so best be caution at all times... strolling around the area is actually pretty comforting because of the calmess and cold breeze you get to experienced... (it was Spring time during our visit)... weather was great! May also find 24-hours restaurants, 7-Eleven, and sundry stores around the GH...

From Hoehyeon Station on Seoul Subway Line 4... is about 15 minutes walk up (yes is a slope!) to the GH, consequently, it would be a bit tiring carrying up your luggage up the slope on the first day... (or if you arrive the Seoul, Incheon airport on the right time (morning 7-9am and noon 2:30pm-11pm), GH could arrange a pick-up service for you... though is FOC but reservation is needed... GH is just walking distance to Namsan Park and N-Tower (20 minutes), Namdaemun Market & shopping paradise Myeongdong (20 - 30 minutes).

GH staffs were very helpful, may find maps and other travel information at reception... staff were helpful with direction and information too... they even helped us to make online purchase ticket for our Nami Island bus and entrace fee... we got the online discounted rate at 23,000 KW per pax... (it actually saves us a lot of time, we did not need to go all the way to the HQ to make payments)

On the 5th day, we checked out and we actually leave our luggage at the reception area (without charge) and went to Nami Island... in the evening we came back to the GH and the owner was very kind enough to send us to the airport... (without charge)... though technically we already checked out and it was at night around 7-8pm...

So let's recap the few points I have made (as to why I highly recommend this GH)

1)Room is affordable
2)Room is clean
3)Room is conveniently/ stratigically located
4)Hospitality of GH staffs

Good enough to convince you? We did enjoyed our stayed there... as to why there are only few reviews here is beyond me...

I was looking through their website and noticed that the place is refurbished... and looking better... definitely looking forward to go Korea again and won't hesitate to stay there again...

We are a family of 10, been here for 5 days, very very satisfied with the service and location easpecially for muslim travellers that dont want to share bathroom with other guests, a 10 minute walk and you're already in namdaemun market and myeongdong, you can also catch a bus to Namsan Seoul Tower, Itaewon or City hall area from here, highly recomended :)

Room tip: Rooms at ground level or lower ground floor is better for old folks, this guesthouse have 3 floors, the 1st floor have a very steep stairway.

Rates a bit high for a Guest House but our room had a private bathroom (Korean-style)...the GH is located about 2 and half blocks from Hoehyeon subway station which is only a station away from Seoul Station (KTX trains/ airport train)...a short 15-minute walk and your already in Myeongdong and Insadong areas

The GH was fully booked during our stay yet the place was very quiet most of the day and night...right outside our room was the kitchen but only one guest actually cooked dinner

Very homey, nice staff...nothing special about the neighborhood..there's a church, small restaurants & coffeeshops, a few business-type hotels, appartments and convenience stores right outside the subway exit.
