Four of us ate here after visiting the Sphinx and the pyramids. I really liked the interior design, and found the bathrooms clean and pretty. The view, of course, is incredible and is likely why most people come here. We were even seated in the back of the restaurant as far from the huge picture window as we could be, yet we still had an amazing view of the pyramids. It appeared that most of the tables close to the window were reserved for tour groups. But it honestly didn't matter as we had a great view anyway.
I ordered the mixed grill, which included lamb and chicken. Before our meals came, we were given pita bread and some sauces, including a delicious yogurt sauce and baba ghanoush. They gave us more yogurt sauce when we asked for it. My mixed grill came with rice, which was seasoned very nicely. I think it had a bit of nutmeg in in it. While my lamb was very good, the chicken was a bit over-cooked.
After lunch I needed some caffeine so I ordered a coffee. I really wanted espresso with milk (cappuccino or latte) but they said they didn't have that and could only serve me espresso. However, the espresso was delicious. It really seemed more like Turkish to me, thick and full-flavored. I enjoyed this jolt of caffeine very much and would recommend ending your meal with one.
A lot of other reviewers have remarked on the service and reported that it was slow and disappointing. I didn't think the service was terrible. I found the waitstaff pleasant and friendly. I would agree that the service was not the most efficient and quick service in the world. However, it was not terrible and when we would signal that we needed something we would be helped.
