It is a nice break from other crowded ruins. When we arrived we were the only tourist there. You take a water taxi over and it takes you past the botanical gardens so it is a nice ride. When you get to the entrance you can take a camel if you need to but we walked to avoid the cost and bartering with the camel drivers. You can follow the path up the hill and you will see an active mosque on your left and an active Coptic monestary on your right. Just follow the right side and you will see the ruins. Once your there go to the right of the building for entry. It is cheap and the history is amazing.

The Monastery is not a sight the usual tourist will go on Aswan but it's a underated gem! It's landscapes are beautiful and there are beautiful sights inside the museum that are worth the long and hot camel ride. Make sure to tip Mohamed (the guide) and access the beautiful views from the second floor!

Difficult of access if you do not fancy camel-rides, this monastery sports a few gems and several esoteric-feeling spaces. The tour guide spoke little English but was both informative and entertaining. The view on the Nile from the top is baffling and the complex as a whole is riveting if you can make a little effort of imagination.

there are to monasteries at the place, an ancient one and a new one, and both worth a visit, they tell you about the history of monasticism in this area centuries ago with much wealth about Coptic history, definitely worth a visit

We were going to visit the nubian tower high on the hill, but when we crossed the river, a guy came to us to and proposed us to ride a camel towards the tower, the tombs and the monastery. We didn't know about the tombs and the monastery, but the guy insisted and lowered his price... we got one camel for 100 pound for the trip to the monastery, tower and tombs... Good price. The monastery was the best... We had a great guide explaining everything with a lot of humor
