Took the local ferry(2le return per person) from opposite Luxor temple to the restaurant which is on the West Bank. When off the ferry follow the crowds and turn left at the main road. Restaurant is just along the way on the right. Rooftop dining with quite a few tables. Pleasantly set out with the added plus of the views across the East Bank which must rate as one of the best in Luxor.
Good choice of meals Egyptian as well as English/European. We had beef tagen, rice bread, pizza , calamari 2x beers, 2x soft drink all for 137le. Food was delicious and staff were friendly.
The restaurant is part of a hotel. Didn't see any rooms but noticed that they had a website www.nilevalley.nl which has the menu and the prices of the rooms. Worth a quick look as there are also pictures of the place.
Just one word of caution and bear in mind I am not good around dogs. There were a couple of dogs that caused me to have a 'freak' moment. They were outside the restaurant on the road and began kind of pushing their way between us as if to separate us , then they began growling...little scary but luckily enough a man shooed them away. When I went back for a second visit I noticed them there again. Local man said they will not harm you as they only dislike the Egyptians as the foreigners feed them! Still nerved me a little though.
