Pyramisa Isis Hotel & Suites Luxor
Ranked #33 of 54 Hotels in Luxor
Reviewed 27 February 2016

Luxor is very quiet due to the dificut circumstances in that part of the world and tourism is at an all time low.
The hotel was almost empty. There was only us round the pool almost every day.
We have been to this hotel many times and the location is excellent. However, this time the lack of tourism is showing. Its all a bit run down and faded. Its still an amazing place to stay and the pool and gardens are fantastic. The pool could have been cleaned more often though, a bit gritty with sand at the bottom.
We have a twin room with Nile view. The room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and bedding. There is a small fridge and a kettle with tea/coffe/sugar. The milk provided is dried so we buy our own from a small supermarket called " Arkwrights " a few streets away. this is run by an English lady & her Egyptian partner.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and Mustafa the breakfast waiter is excellent. The breakfast itself offers a selection of foods, both European and Arabic. However there is little choice day after day.The dining room is spacious with lots of room between the tables.
The hotel manager Mr Ali is really efficient and speaks good English and very informative.
A must to visit is the " Animal Care in Egypt " hospital just outside Luxor and any taxi will take you. They treat donkeys/horses & cats/dogs/small pets for free. They rely on donations and are suffering due to the lack of tourists. Look at their web site and see if you can take anything out to them off the " wish list " Its a differant place to go when you get fed up with the sun lounger !!
We will always go back to this lovely hotel as long as it stays open. Its such a shame no one is going and I fear that many of the big hotels will close and we will be devastated.

Room Tip: Dont choose a City View room as noisy. Terrace roos have large outside area with canopy for shade

Firstly, there isn't a number of stars to reflect this hotel: this was clearly once an amazing hotel with a good location and friendly, helpful staff. Unfortunately, with the downturn in the tourism industry over the last 5 years, it has become tired and a little rough around the edges.
We were given a free upgrade to a superior room upon arrival, which was great. As the manager on the desk said, the city view rooms would have been noisy and less pleasant. The balcony and view from the superior room would have been well worth the money.
The breakfast buffet is also impressive, particularly given that there may have been a dozen rooms in use during our visit.
I really hope that Egypt can recover from this drought in tourism and that the Pyramisa can return to its glory days.

Room Tip: Nile view or Superior ... If you have to go City, then choose the highest floor possible.

Room Tip: Nile view room is best.

I have just returned from a 1 month holiday in Luxor. The was my 26th time at the Isis hotel. This was the first time I went alone. As always, I was looked after and treated like a Queen. The hospitality and the attention I received was first class. I would like to assure anyone traveling to Luxor and especially staying at the Isis, that they will enjoy a trouble free holiday. I never once felt threatened even walking alone along the street. I would recommend an Egyptian holiday to anyone wanting, sunshine and a friendly atmosphere. Despite what you may have heard from the news channels, there is nothing to fear with a holiday in Luxor.

Room Tip: The Nile view is a must. What better then watching the sun go down over Nile, and the beautiful gard...
