The Karen Blixen Coffee Garden is now operate by the Tamarind Group and added the big TAMAMBO name to the place. Located 600 meters from the Karen Blixen Museum, it is a place worth visiting even for just a cup of coffee. The restaurant has a beautiful garden surrounded by big trees and nicely landscaped. Several tables with shade of various sizes are comfortably arranged in the garden. The visitors can order from simple coffee to a full meal here. The main house itself has room to rent for guest as well as spa and gift shop. Since photographing is prohibited at the Interior of Karen Blixen Museum, this is the opportunity to take some very nice photos.

So excited to have the Tamarind in Karen now. We often have lunch there. Great service, good food. Went back the same evening for "the TAmarind" but it was a shadow of its former self. All 6 of us ordered cocktails. They took so long to prepare that we felt really irritable by the time they arrived. Beers were not cold enough. That's not acceptable in such a well established & respected establishment.Crepes were leathery & not hot. Waiter tried too hard & was ingratiating instead of competent & slick. The lady in charge who was also on at lunchtime was a tower of strength, gracious & professional throughout. How did she manage that with such long hours! But we shall try again & hope for better luck next time.

The garden was beautiful to sit in, it would be great to relax and enjoy a meal on a Sunday afternoon there is also an indoor dining option which is nice. The Ambience definitely nice, i love the feel of the bar and I will definitely be going back again.

We frequented this place at least monthly. We enjoyed the peaceful grounds which are perfect for a morning or afternoon meal. Makes you feel like you are in colonial Nairobi.

The location is wonderful, huge gardens, well maintained, very peaceful. The food is not up to standards, the meat was cold and cooked enough, the dessert were not tasty and the chips tasting of fish!
The waiters are very helpful.
