Very good museum giving insight into history, culture and past of Kenya. More eternally worth joining their museum society which gets you free entrance into sights throughout kenya for a reasonable price.

I purchased the non-resident SH 1500 combo ticket which included the Snake House. After checking my bag with umbrella(no charge), I accepted the option of a guided tour (thank you Faith!). The museum tour was at my pace and lasted about 1.5 hours. The Cradle Of Civilization rooms contain plaster replicas of famous finds such as Lucy (the original of which is in Cleveland OH) but exhibited artifacts are original. Other rooms showcase Kenya’s history, pre-European tribal customs and dress, birds of East Africa, Kenyan wildlife and a Joy Adamson art exhibition.
The Snake House is worth the small extra tariff as all reptiles (poisonous snakes and alligators) and tortoises are live. The aquarium room is less exciting. The cafe has a nice patio but menu is unremarkable. Security is good both at the main gate (nice meeting you Emily) and inside. There is also a neglected botanical garden on the premises which was too sad to explore. A recommended port of call for any visitor as there is something for everyone.

We entered the museum and did also pay for private tour in the museum. That was really amazing experience to learn about Kenya culture and and get everything explained and nice storytelling as well. The museum is rather big and we spend about 3 hours so see everything + the snake park.

A lot of Kenyas history in that museum. You can easyly use a whole day there. Nice guides that know what they talk about.
