Kicheche Bush Camp is not posh by luxury tented safari camp standards. It's not that kind of place. It's very comfortable and tents are lovely. Food is exceptional too but the game viewing is simply sensational. Seldom have we seen so much game every time we drove out of camp. Kill, after kill, after kill. Cubs and offspring everywhere. Photos everywhere we looked. Sometimes you just didn't know where to look. Staff and management were lovely in camp; the guiding was knowledgeable and reassuring; and the location was wonderful with animals passing through camp most nights. Not hard to see why this place is so popular for photographic safaris. This is as close to guaranteed animal sightings as you will get in Africa!

Have just returned from our fifth visit to this lovely camp and are booked to return in the new year. It offers everything we want from a safari holiday. Wild life in abundance, the brilliant James always seems to know where to find it. He is endlessly patient with us and our lack of photographic knowledge always putting us in the best postition to get brilliant shots.
Back at camp there such a lovely atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble. Emma and Darren and their lovely staff run a fantastic setup even pandering to my husband's addiction to Amarula!

Went on photo safari to Kicheche Bush Camp
Tents were very comfortable with bucket showers and en suite toilets
Food was excellent with attentive staff
Darren and Emma were perfect hosts
Kennedy and the kitchen staff always on hand with drinks and food needs
Patrick and James were knowledgeable guides and got us in good positions for photos
Cannot recommend this enough for a genuine bush destination

I was fortunate to spend three nights in this fabulous camp last January 2017. I was on a photography safari with photographer Greg DuToit and two other photographers. Greg had told us we would love Kicheche Bush Camp and he was right. Our fabulous hosts, Darren and Emma, were waiting for us as we drove up and for the next three days made sure every need was attended to. The tents were fabulous, the food even more so, and the other guests were delightful. In a testament to this camp, almost all the other guests had been to Kicheche Bush camp multiple times before and were already planning their return. .The spirit of this place is just great and all of the people--Darren and Emma and the staff along with the other guests make your safari such fun. I was so lucky to have met the renown photographer Kyriakos Kaziras who was "in residence” at Kicheche for a couple months. He was as generous and friendly as he could be--just like everyone else at this camp. All camps in the Mara have 4X4's and tents and good food. Only a few have the the high tone, yet casual sensibility of Kicheche. You won’t be disappointed and you will return.

Room Tip: All the tents are great.

Going to Africa has always been a lifelong dream of mine. We worked with a wonderful travel planner from Africa Exclusives- and Kicheche Bush Camp was the last of 6 Camps we had stayed at over our 3 week+ adventure.

Each place prior to Kicheche was memorable in its own right, but Kicheche - was special. Not only for its location, size (up to 12 people max can be in Camp at one time) and open design for viewing of wildlife but also for its staff (Aki, Charles, Mike, Victor and others) and one of the camp's owners - Paul and Donna Goldsteins (who we were fortunate enough to meet, dine and converse with). The accommodations were the most "rustic" of the previous camps, but were perfectly designed for the setting and wonderfully comfortable and simply perfect. The wildlife viewing was bar none. The meals all exceeded expectations. Our guide Charles was the best - able to spot wildlife expertly. Each day was different in the wildlife viewing and the terrain we covered. I would highly recommended Kicheche Bush Camp - not only because it is a conservancy but you will have the most memorable experience!
