We were only stopping over at Hong Kong just to spend a day at Disneyland and wanted a cheap accommodation for 2 nights.
However, in Hong Kong, there is no such thing as cheap accommodation.
Even for a tiny room and an even tinier bathroom, the price is steep. Costing us about SGD$100 a night, we found this one of the better choice for us.
Let's get straight to the point and list the pros and cons:
Good points was that it was relatively easy to get to from the Airport (walk a few miles from where the airport bus dropped us off), had local street eats in the day time (delicious porridge at cheap cheap price!), fruits, market (to soak in some local vibes!), and relatively near to the nearby MRT (the name of the mrt station slips my mind now). The room comes with a sink, kettle and dish dryer but no stove? Weird indeed huh.
Bad points was that the room was really tiny and bathroom even tinier. Not much room to move around in the bathroom if you are the sort that needs dancing and singing space, than beware! Toiletries were not provided save for toilet roles. Everything else like soap, shampoo etc had to be provided by your good self. No towels provided either but thank goodness we had the sense to pack some. Even the TV had very poor reception, with lots of static sound and noise.
Security was minimal; it was really some security code based on your room number punched into the keypad at the door. Anyone can replicate the security number by peeping over your shoulder.
We can't complain as we expected this given the limited living space in HK but for the price we paid, we could get a much decent place in other countries in Asia or even Paris for that matter!
