Inn Side Out and its sister bar, East End Brewery, share a joined common room, outdoor seating area, menu and staff. Basically its a single bar restaurant spread out over a terrace area known as Sunning Plaza, between Sunning Road and Caroline Hill Road off of Hysan Avenue. They are both part of the El Grande restaurant group and also share a common food menu and extensive beer list as other nice stops in Hong Kong such as Slims in the Starstreet precinct and the HK Brew House in Lan Kwai Fong.
I particularly like the good Belgium beer selection here, with three Leffe brands on offer, making this a nice place for a drink when spending time in the Causeway Bay area. Also, the outdoor seating area is extensive yet doesn't feel crowded. Unfortunately, food orders here have not been as enjoyed as with the other El Grande bars. A recent nacho with chili (HK$110) was barely average (rating 2.75 of 5), no where near as nice as a plate had earlier this month at Slims. But food is not the reason you come to Inn Side Out or East End Brewery, its the atmosphere and drinks, in which this place scores well (rating 4 of 5).
Overall, we like this combined bar, mainly for the beer selection (not the food) and like making stops here from time to time when shopping in Causeway Bay. Thus, if you are just wanting a nice bar break, this is a good spot to try and find if you are in the area.
