Stayed 2 nights mid February 2012 and this is what I call a standard business class hotel, and was not dissapointed. A few flaws, but for the price paid was value for money. If you can get the right price including the breakfast buffet and if your stay is just a day or two, this is a fine hotel, however if your looking at a longer stay, and want to be in the centre of things, then perhaps there are better hotels in better positions.
Situated in North Point on Hong Kong Island, the hotel is just a short walk to all public transport (bus, tram, underground). North Point is away from the main tourist destinations however it suited us as our business was at Chai Wan and easy to get to from this hotel.
The room we had was medium size with all expected facilities, clean and the bed comfortable.
We boooked the breakfast package and was not dissapointed, wide selection of food choices both mornings. (ok, the doughnuts were stale, but better I leave these alone)
Check in and out was speedy and reception staff friendly.
Plenty of eating places withing walking distance of the hotel, good shopping at North Point and 5 minutes or so to a large shopping centre. Look out for the times of the free hotel shuttle bus to get you around. A city airport terminal bus stops outside the hotel.
Perhaps the only gripe was with the doormen. On first arrival the taxi was met and luggage unloaded and delivered promptly to our room, but when arriving the next day with two heavy cartons, we had to manhandle them ourselves with doormen looking on, and on departure the same thing. Perhaps they had a busy day and were tired of assisting customers with luggage.
Due to excess luggage we needed to leave a 20kg carton at the hotel for pick up by international courier and found we were unable to book this in Hong Kong and had to do this on our return to Australia. We left the unlabled carton at the porters office and advised we would have it collected within three days. Not sure of the porters name we left the carton with, but his handling of the entire episode was perfect, lableing the carton, completing the consignment note and keeping us informed by email of the collection activity. Great service.
For a business stay this hotel was more than acceptable, and we would stay again when next our business activity takes us to this end of Hong Kong, but perhaps as a holiday destination, or with children, I would look elsewhere
