“A wonderful stay”
Reviewed 10 March 2012

Recently spent five nights at the Intercontinental Grand Stanford. From check in to departure the fabulous staff were able to look after all our needs. We decided to treat ourselves and had a view of the harbour, and club lounge privledges. The staff in the club room were not only welcoming but also were able to offer suggestions on activities around Hong Kong and places that would suit our interests. Mimi in the club lounge was wonderfully helpful, and Henry was so helpful with suggestions during cocktail hour. Paul was always welcoming. The breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails were tasty, well presented and excellent. The staff in the lobby always had a smile and were helpful. The room was comfortable, had a fantastic view and the bath facilities were good. Hotel is about a five minute walk away from Nathan Rd, but for a quiet relaxing stay, it's location is terrific, only a ten minute walk to the Star Ferry, and five minutes to the Mtr Tsim Tsa Tsui East. I am looking forward to another opportunity to spend time in the wonderful hotel.

Chose hotel on combination of location and price.
Very happy with service and IHG loyalty program benefits.
The Guest Relations Manager welcome letter was one of the best I have seen.
Staff all courteous and helpful.
Breakfast in the Club Lounge was excellent.
Harbour View rooms definitely worth the extra cost.
Older fittings and decor give the property an European rather than an Asian feel.
Short walk to Star Ferry Terminal and Harbour City.
Presents a good choice in sometimes expensive Hong Kong

Stayed for 2 nights, Mar 2011. Stayed as an Ambassader on a BOGO package. Check in was smooth and was upgraded to a spacious room on the 8th floor with the harbour view. Room smelt a bit musty but Hong Kong is pretty humid anyway. Room was very well equipped; iron in the cupboard, extensive mini-bar, wifi and cable, really everything you could need. Bed very comfortable and the water pressure was great though the toilet/bathroom was a litte cramped. Room service was prompt, hot and tasty and all service interactions were good.
I'm starting to wonder why I gave it only 3 stars but it is a little tatty round the edges and could really do with a refurb and in a city with so many options you can undoubtedly do better for the price point especially as it is quite a hike to the Tsim Tsa Tsui subway where you connect to most of the action. Noise insulation was poor especially as there seemed to be a cleaners station nearby and there was a lot of background noise.
Also the 'harbour view room' is a bit of a misnomer, it's nice and all but for the picture postcard view of Hong Kong Island you have to crane your neck way off to the right.
There's a walkway over the expressway in front of the hotel that can take you along the harbour through the Avenue of the Stars and on to the Star Ferry and bus terminal. It's a nice leisurely 15 mins walk.
Take the K3 free shuttle bus from the Airport Express station at Kowloon to the hotel. Though you might want to take a taxi if you are in a hurry as it's the second last of 5 (or 6?) stops.

A wonderful spot when in Hong Kong. The rooms are very comfortable and the service great. The staff take pride in great service. Check out the local environs as well for a wide array of bard and hotels.

Only disappointing aspect is that the hotel don't allow Platinum PP members access to the Executive Lounge like very other ICOH I have stayed at.

Room Tip: If you stay pay for a harbour view room otherwise you'll be disappointed with a courtyard view...
