Empire Hotel Kowloon

We stayed at the Empire for 6 nights and had a great time. The hotel replied to my email by return mail and really did everything possible to make our stay great.

We had a hand made card for our anniversary, petals on the bed and a bottle of wine and a room upgrade.

It is in a great location and easy to get to and from by the hotel shuttle bus K4.

The mobile WiFi is brilliant and worth getting whilst you are wondering about to track maps and locations.

The breakfast is a bit of a cattle market, but it mostly due to other guests. Look for a table far from the food area to reduce the kids watching cartoons on phones or shouting to each other on the phone.

The pool was a nice place to unwind and had an interesting view upwards.

The hotel is well located, it has good air flow and has a good breakfast. There ends the positives. The bathroom is too small and mouldy. The overall maintenance of the building is extremely poor. We specifically asked for a non-smoker room and were placed in a stinky smoking room. It took a night before we could be moved. We had paid a porter for our luggage but there was no help given with the move. The WIFI is free but incredibly slow and keeps cuttingThe front staff seems to be doing their best but it is not enough!

Spent three nights here recently. Rooms are very very small with limited area for any luggage. Our room stunk of smoke. We went to front desk to complain and found several others from our group doing the same thing. When it was our turn they told us our tour guide had not requested non smoking rooms ( which he denied) and they had no non smoking rooms left. We told them we had to have a change as we had asthma and could not be in this room. They suddenly found a non smoking room which happened to be on a club floor. The room there was slightly larger. By removing the table between beds and pushing the beds together it gave enough room to put luggage on the floor and still be able to get to the bathroom. Poor flushing toilet- must hold the button in for several seconds and usually had to do it twice. Breakfast was good with a good variety. Tables are limited though. Helpful and friendly staff in front lobby. Many restaurants and bars nearby. Easy walk to waterfront.

Central location is walking distance to the Tsim tsa Tsui malls and shopping area also close to the bars in the area.
The rooms are quiet small even the suite was small. The breakfast is pretty ordinary and one can get better and cheaper breakfast in the immediate vicinity

The hotel is old. Room is small and toilet bowl is dirty covered with stains. The stay is unpleasant for travelers who is very particular about toilet, like me. There is smell of smoking although is a non-smoking floor. We were told that we have been upgraded to club floor. But it is way below expectation. A club floor that does not look like one. Pillows were ok. Breakfast is variety and location is also good.

Room Tip: If you are particular of your hotel stay, look for others.
