Very nice location. Really very cheap. Clean. Free wifi. The staff (particularly Kumar) is friendly and accommodating. The room we had is exactly what we needed since we just want somewhere to leave our bags and sleep at night. Problems we had our very small bathing room, no cleaning rags upon getting out of the bathroom so water spreads all over and you need tissue, aircon seems to be not functioning (though I don't think you'll need it as it's cold and there is an electric fan which is already sufficient), and the fact that you can hear people outside just like they are in front of you. Other than that, the place is good and clean for its cheap price, negative things are considerable. Will book again here in case we return to Hong Kong. :)

Room Tip: If all you need is somewhere to place your bags in and somewhere to sleep at night, you may choose t...

Wanna a simple clean and dead cheap accommodation in Hong Kong then the strawberry guest house can be right up your street. Just a few minutes walk from Tsim Tsa Tsui station, surrounded by some great curry places..

Only stayed for two nights but the place is clean and we got a twin room which was adequate to what we need.. A comfy room to rest! For this price don't expect luxury and you can be pleasantly surprised.

I traveled Asia for 4 months going to 11 different countries and by far out of the dozens of guesthouses i stayed at this was the worst.
After paying for 2 nights I was woken up early from a knocking on my door after the first night. It was a member of staff telling me I had to get out of the guesthouse. The reason for this was it was a Chinese holiday and they got a higher price for the room they had already given to me. So they tried to clear me out along with 4 other rooms, including a family, and put us out on the street when all the rooms in Hong Kong were booked out because of the holiday.
Refusing to leave and eventually staying after a lot of shouting and even threatening from the staff, they then claimed I was a cheat and had faked their signature on my receipt for the room key deposit when I was checking out, refusing to give me my money back.
Do not stay here!

Out of experience we know that budgethotels in HK are small and dont have the best standards, but this one was surprisingly good!

Why;
- this guesthouse is brandnew!
- its toplocation; in the Chung King Mansion building , a building with lots of hotels , along the famous Touristy Nathan Road. Its located at the 12th Floor, which you reach by a crowdy elavator (normal in HK); when you reach this floor it looks crapy and at first its hard to find the right frontdoor of the guesthouse; the name is printed small on the door; so have a good look!
- when the frontdoor opens: you Will enter a shiny new guesthouse with friendly staff
- the rooms are small ( of course; you are in HK), but they have everything; a good bed, shiny white walls, aircon, tv, watercooker, enough electro plugs, fan, good lights, a safe, even hotelslippers, a complete bathroom (soap and shampoo provided). And most important; the room it is clean!
- wifi is present but slow

In summary; seriously a very good budget choice !

As we needed a place to sleep after being denied boarding we chose the cheap option and took a taxi from the airport to the strawberry guesthouse. Taxi was about 250 HKD. At first glance you can't tell from the face of the building where you need to go, but luckaly there were enough hotel-pushers to "show us the way". During this process we did not feel safe, but in hindsight all seemed trustworthy. The rooms were basic and "HongKong-small" but quite clean. We took the "family-room" which is also sold as double. The guesthouse is situated nicely near Kowloon park and the subwaystation where the train will take you to Hong Kong island for less than one USD. If you are used to Paris or London pricing this will be a real treat. We ate at McDonalds for 2 USD pp.
Sunny (the receptionist/owner/cleaner/manager/logistic superviser) was kind enough to give us his phonenumber and we could leave our lugguage at the front desk when visiting HK.
Maybe he could make a folder with breakfast opportunities in the neighbourhood, or have HK maps for sale. This could save time. We had breakfast at the shopping center next door (1st floor) Very nice as well. As there are many guesthouses that offer basically the same I can't say this is the best, but it was certainly a nice experience and good value for money to us.
Strawberry guesthouse is checked by fire inpection. Be sure to find the 2 staircases for evacuation ICE.

Room Tip: The bigger rooms are not much more $$ so if you need space think about overbooking yourself. The lar...
