Cantonese consider snake to be very healthy food. Especially in the fall and winter, we all will have a bowl of snake soup to warm us up. It is also very tasty. Ser Wong Fun is a eatery that have been around a very long time. They serve very traditional and simply Chinese food. Their quality have remained the same all these years.

You really need to go with a cantonese speaker, because they speak no english! We came across it walking up Connaught Street. They do have a menu card with english subtitles! We also managed to order cans of beer (not on the menu card) with our meal - sign language!. We didn't go for snake items in which they evidently specialise. I'll bet they would have been as delicious as all the items we did order. Scruffy, but very atmospheric and the best food we ate all week. Don't forget to take your own napkins/tissues.

It's simple. Local staples made just like the old days. Bit pricey now, but you won't get the same taste anywhere else. Real Hong Kong eats.

The decor is nothing special. The staff aren't particularly nice. But you are here for the food. It is very famous for its snake broth which is great for the winter time, and its very authentic and well made lap cheong, or as some may know Chinese sausage rice. Unlike many of the modern restaurants and places that use processed, factory made and generally low quality sausages, this restaurant makes it in-house and do it right. Using proper ingredients and the right mix of fat and lean sausage, their lap cheong and yun cheong is some of the best Hong Kong has to offer.
