The Purna Bhakti Museum is a history based museum specilised on the life of President SUHARTO>
He was the former second President of Indonesia and a powerful political leaderin modern Indonesian History.
The museum houses and displays a large amount of Suharto's collection, artworks and souvenirs received from various world leaders and Indonesian people accumulated during the 32 years of his administration in Indonesia.
that was the golden era of Indonesia.
The museum is a modern buildingwith design took shape of TUMPENG,a traditional Javanese cone shaped rice, symbolised GRATITUDE.the museum was built on the initiative of Madame tien Suharto(his wife).
well over three hours is the time taken to see and admire the exhibts from all over the world.
the wood carving of the kissing deer, the Ramayana is almost carved on an entire tree.must see to really admire all this.
well documented and preserved and lots of efforts to really hand it over to the next of generation.grateful to Raji Chandrasekhar for having taken me to this wonderful monument the day I reached Jakarta itself.

People said that this is collections of international gifts for delegations for Soeharto (the Indonesia former and the longest serving President). The biggest gift (and the most lavish) is a bed carved with jade and other jewelry.

Too bad the museum is dark and dusty. They should improve the lighting to makes the artifacts more dramatic.

This is the most distinctive museum in the world because all the unique displays were gifts from all over world to President Soeharto. All these gifts were displayed in a very unique and beautiful building in Jakarta. Each ornament resembles the super skills of craftmen of its country. There are a few gigantic crafts from tree roots which are most attractive. You are free to take photos of all the displays. A worthwhile visit to this museum if you're antiques lover.
