Have stayed in Marriott hotels all around the globe and this one has to be one of the very best marriott properties. Here goes -

The Good

- The location. Couple of wonderful malls nearby (Indo plaza if I am not mistaken), hard rock cafe and a rocking night club called Immigrant
- The bathrooms. I have seldom seen bathrooms as big as the rooms in a hotel. Well this one does have a humongous bathroom.
- The complimentary breakfast. The best spread I have seen in a long long time. From Indian, to chinese, to you name it!
- Very courteous staff.

I did want to include a section on the "Not so Good" but can hardly think of anything. Wonderful hotel and as I said the best Marriott I have stayed in

Have stayed at one or two hotels in Jakarta but this was the best of the bunch. Housekeeping is the star service with a standard of cleanliness and consistency rarely encountered in modern hotels, let alone chain hotels. Nothing wrong with the food either, plenty of choices but restaurant service a little - only a little - robotic. Overall however, staff are outstanding, helpful and kind. Managerial presence is in evidence which adds to the sense that the hotel is committed to giving the best guest experience possible.

Good rooms, good food and good service, absolutely no complaints.

Like with the rest of the hotels in this circle, it does not have much to do other walking to the area near Oakwood residencies.

Decent place with no issues, comfy!

A five-star hotel in a business central location in Jakarta. The room was spacious. I love the little chocolates they put on the bed, a really nice touch! The bed was superb and I slept like a baby!

Staffs are great! if you own a Marriot Reward card, there are so many extra perks and discounts you can enjoy. The hotel itself has several great restaurants. I've been to the Pearl, that serves Chinese Cuisine and they have the best roast duck I have tasted in Jakarta. The Sailendra restaurant, is one of the best buffets you can find in Jakarta, all for its breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. There is also an all you can eat promo for dessert if you have a sweet tooth, for approximately Rp. 150,000.

It is a walking distance to the adjacent Ambassador Mall and ITC Kuningan, this hectic and really popular shopping destination in Jakarta. Due to its central location, If you drive or get a taxi, you can literately get anywhere in Jakarta.

Despite its sad history - JW Marriot in Jakarta experienced bombing attacks twice since it was first opened, I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. Just everything you expect from a 5 star hotel!

Our family of 5 adults and 2 kids stayed at the JW Marriott Jakarta – Kuningan for 1 night during the NYE.. we booked for 3 rooms, the first 2 were connecting rooms so that was very handy! Beautiful view of the nearby buildings and the adjacent park, was very relaxing to just stay in the rooms and watch the view from the window..

As the house-restaurant (Sailendra) held a NYE event, we booked a table there – pricey, mind you – food quality is not that much different from any other hotel buffet in Jakarta. But we aimed for the ambience more than anything else.

Unfortunately though, the check-in was unnecessarily sloooooooow. Although we’ve booked a month beforehand, and arrive 1 hour after the official check-in time, the rooms were not ready when we arrived. Also, originally the receptionist got us 3 rooms on different floors, which could have been most uncomfortable for a family! Fortunately, we got to spoke to the manager and he finally got us 3 rooms on the same floor. Also, the NYE entertainment wasn't that impressive.. "just OK" hotel band.

We were lucky that a friend work for the hotel, so we got discounted rates. Would we stay again at normal rates? No, not really.
